I dunno, that would be a tough one for me too.....i would love to have a 7th gen too, but i really do love our 6th gens curves and style. I would say that if you have to trade your 98 GT and then pay more on top of that to get the 7th gen, then i would stick with the 6th and take that extra money for mods and keeping her in nice condition. However its your call, i would be torn too if i had to choose....

I love my 99 GT, but think i might trade it for a newer GTS and start all over again. -------------------- Jared Harwell

well being how it is at my house on weekends i can choose which car i want to drive either my 94 gt hatchback or my moms 00' black gts 7 generation, this car is considerably faster than mine but i feel like it wasn't ment to pound cause i feel bad whenever i take a turn to hard or i push the rpms up. I would say your delimma is pretty good one but all in all i would say if you want speed go for an engine swap in our cars if you want more comfort i would definitly go get a 7 generation because they are a lot smoother than 6 gen ones. (this is my opinion I could be wrong) Whatever you decide to do you will still have a celica and thats what counts

Def stick with the 6th Gen. I dont like the styling of the 7th gen at all... I know the 7's are faster, but I'm just gonna do an engine swap and stuff on mine cause i like the body so much more.
Whatever you choose, its a Celica, you can't go wrong. |

I had the same problem when the 7 gen Celica came out, I really liked it but I just love my 6 gen to much to get rid of it. Either way you decide to go both cars are really nice and you still have a Celi.

I had to made the same choise once, and I think the 6 gen has more personality than a 7gen, but the 7 gen has more speed, Its a hard choise man

there are a few things i dont like about the 7th gens. The rice like body design, the vtec style high compression high hp low torque engine, and the fact that i have read on HONDA forums where honda owners say that the 7gc has too little torque!!
but its still a toyota, and its still a celica. i say stick it out till the 8th gen comes out in 2005, which should be a complete redesign. if it is cool, get the 8th gen, if not the 7th gens will be much more affordable. if you want a fast celica, just do a 3sgte swap, it will be much faster than any stock celica that will be made in the near future and with some mods to that engine you will still have spent less on the car and easily have close to 300hp -------------------- 1994 Celica GT4 WRC Edition

I'd have to say stick with the 6th gen, but it is a tough call. I personally go for looks more than engine. If I wanted an engine, I'd buy a old mustang or a supra or something. I like the 6gc because chicks think its sexy, and I love looking at it, every time i see it. Tough call though man.
