Celica almost got broken into Options

Well, around 5:15 this morning I hear my alarm on my car go off. My dad went outside to go check out what it was, but he didn't see anything wrong (since it was dark) and just thought it was a cat or something. Well, once we all get up this morning my me and my dad notice that the driver side window looked as if somebody was trying to pry it out. So we get the sheriff down here and he files a report, but later that day they call us back and told us that two other cars were also broken into (stereo equipment was stolen from those) that were in our area. All three of us that were broken into go to the same school, so it's most likely somebody at our school trying to take our stereo equip. Pisses me off though that I got broken into, I never turned my stereo up that loud while I was at school. The only indication that I would have a system is that you can see my amp through the back window. I'm either gonna get limo tint on my back window or hide the amp somewhere and make sure I lock up my faceplate and ipod whenever I leave the car.

Glad the alarm stopped them... i'm afraid that with all of the car alarms that go off now a days on accident no one really cares if one is going off ... so if a guy wants in the car... he'll just get in..

at my high school a couple of years back, there was i think 11 cars that got broken into in the same day.. it's probably the same thieves that jacked mine when i still had my 4th gen. lost about $700 worth of stereo equipment (subs & amp).. i had only cranked it up once (which i never usually do around school) during a nice sunny day and then bam! it's gone a couple days later. i'm totally out of the whole 'bass' thing now since that incident and i'm proud to say that i'm very happy with my stock 8-speaker premium setup.

At least your alarm did its job like people said earlier. I have been really lucky and have never had anything stolen just keyed once and a while I hope if somebody ever tries to break into my car the alarm works like it did for you

I'm glad that your family heard the alarm and really "DID" react to it. Since most alarm out there basically sounded the same, usually people either don't hear it (watching movie inside the house), or they just thought that "it doesn't sound like it's from my car"..

Yea, we live in a relatively quiet neighboorhood and this is the first time this has ever happened around here. I've never really heard my alarm go off before, but it's an aftermarket one so it makes all of those weird noises.

a couple months after i got my celi i had her broken into. I was visiting my gf at college and the got it in the parking lot. its a soft top so the cut open my top when they realized they couldnt get in that way they smashed the window (i didnt have the car long enough to have the alarm installed ) not to mention this was all during a frickin downpour so my leather got soaked. So i come out in the early morning to get some... stuff and the kids had come back to try one more time to pull out the stereo so they are both at the car, one kid saw me coming and ran, left his bro the carry the rest of my stuff. lol. i popped him one clean in the jaw, broke it I think. the cops didnt like that i hit him, but w/e.

total loss:
-bottle of cologne
-mp3 player
-one very gauged up dash insert
-broken window
-busted stereo (they never got it out)
-cut top
-soaked leather

the next week, i picked up a viper alarm.

Hide the amp better.. Limo tint isn't too smart because the visibility out your back window goes to crap. ESP. during the night... If you need to back up, chances are that you will hit something because you cannot see... Already I have a hard time backing up in the dark with my 20% tint.

some one tryed to break into my celi 2days ago at my work. On monday my sis' bf's civic got broken into and had his cd case stolen with like 200 cds in it. So when i was workin i parked my car at the front of the ski hill where its easily seen. So just as my last shift was finishing i saw a guy walkin slowly by it towards the back of the lot. Thought it was a lil bit weird. So i got my boots off and every thing and i was walking out and saw the same guy walking slowly by the back of my car again and then walked up beside my car by my drivers door and looked down at my door handel and tryed to open it. I hit the panic button on my car so the alarm went off. The guy looked up and was really shocked. I was like "OH!! thats where i parked it" the guy kinda looked over at me and was like "oh..nice car, i like the interior, what kinda system do you have?" I knew he was diggin for info so i told him nothin cuz it got broken into a week b4. He walked away and started casing other cars. So i called the cops on him and sure enough he was responsable for 3 other break ins at my work. But im still not drivin the celi 2 work just for a lil while to make sure they arent breaking in any more and also cuz i strained every muscel in my left shoulder so i cant really drive 2 easily..lol.
