Good link lagos.

Hashmaster, SEARCH. There is a ton of information on the 3sgte on this site, as well as on celicatech.com. Do the research, surf the web, and you'll find exactly what you are looking for.

You're gonna make some people angry with that comment.

With some work, a 3sgte will run under 12 seconds.

a bone stock swap will turn your car into a 13-14sec car. its a HUGE upgrade from the stock motors and opens you up to an almost unlimited number of upgrade options.

Actually, I think "fast but not very fast" is a pretty good, albeit inherently non-descriptive, definition. Here is another way to put it: "The speed will surprise you the first time you turn the boost up to 14 or 15psi."

As for the sub 12 second club, that is going to be VERY difficult with a FWD car. RWD 3sgte's in MR2T cars take about 350-400whp to get into that range. With the traction issues in a FWD set-up, its going to take very wide sticky tires, a great suspension and more horsepower (and alot of money).

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

turbo cars have a turbocharger that compresses air and forces it into the motor to make more power out of it. then you can use a boost gauge to read how much air is being forced into your motor in psi. so if somone says they "run 14psi" it means that their turbo is forcing that much air into the motor.

PSI stands for ponunds per square inch. its an amount of pressure. no offense but that is something you should have learned while putting air in you bike tires when you were little.

this may be a pretty dumb question... but if someone wanted to upgrade their 3s to get alot of HP, but didnt want any traction issues, what would be a good equalibrium for HP and traction?

controlling your right foot. thats all there is too it.

i would say that 300hp or less would be ideal in a fwd celica. i dont think i would really want any more then that, but like i said before, its all about how you drive.
