broke my block Options

i found out yesterday that when my CV joint went out it ripped off and bent the CV shaft mounting ring and broke the studs that it attaches to. my mechanic says it has something to so with the lowering of the car and how the CV shaft wears faster and you mess up the cars geometry. I was just wondering if anybody else had any similar problems with such severe CV shaft problems.
