Well, the engine is finally getting there! We are going to spend Saturday and Sunday finishing the wiring and this thing should be done!! I will post pics on Sunday night.
So after I finish this thing, and make some more funds, how should I upgrade it? With a turbo or supercharger? Which would be best do you think? This looks sexy as hell! This post has been edited by 94silverst: Feb 17, 2006 - 12:49 AM -------------------- |

Wow that's great to hear that your almost done with the swap. I just finished my 20v 4age silvertop swap today (at least the most part of it), and it has great top end power over the 7afe motor. Hopefully on Monday I can put on my exhaust and suspension when time permits. If you need any help, contact Dr Tweak. He helped me alot since I started the swap till now (started swap last week Tuesday).

SHES ALIVE!!!!
Turned her over on Sunday!! Screamed like hell!! However, not completely finished.... -Need to fig out what to do about the headers (the connection is not the same from the 4age to the 7afe) -Elongate my throttel cable so it will reach -re-route the power steering -hook up the a/c -few small others i can't think of right now... If anyone has solutions to this stuff, especially the header problem, let me know!! Thanks for all the support guys! I can't wait to get it on the street! -------------------- |

A/C won't work so forget about it. P/S takes some effort, but would eventually work...
I assume that you didn't get the downpipe with the engine? If so, you will need to customize something with the headers to work, possibly a FWD Corolla header would work after some customizing. the downpipe with the 20V engine will hit the supension crossmember so you will need to cut it a few lengths and make sure it don't rattle like a can. |

QUOTE A/C won't work so forget about it. It might not hook up to my ECU and then be powered through the temperature control unit, but I should be able to find the hot wire that activates it and tap it to it with direct power (and through a switch). QUOTE I assume that you didn't get the downpipe with the engine? NOPE I'm probably going to by a new 4-2-1 header set for the 4age and then go from there. If there are any more ideas out there please let me know though! QUOTE I just finished my 20v 4age silvertop swap today How did you takel the header problem?-------------------- |

[/quote] I got the downpipe for mine so I just used it with the engine, but now the catback has gotten heavy from dirt and what not so its banging aganist the subframe of the car where the crossmember goes for the knuckles and swaybar. It rattles like a can, so Im gonna have to find a way to get around it. By the way, pace headers do not fit unless you customize it to fit and that requires some cutting, drilling and fabricating. If you know how to do those already than NM. |
