QUOTE(creamed_corn @ Feb 21, 2006 - 10:43 PM) I'm still worried... the engine sure did clank and slam when it died for not being interference. Any of the guru's want to explain this one? Any possible way a non-interference engine could bend valves, etc, from a timing belt breaking? Once upon a time my car's water pump decided to crap out. The impeller totally destoyed itself scorching the timing belt and skipping some teeths, the timing belt was almost new. Maybe it's what happened to you? btw its was on a 90 celica GT, same engine This post has been edited by Rayme: Feb 23, 2006 - 10:16 PM -------------------- ![]() -Rémy 02 SiR, 08 250R |

I think it may have been the tensioners in this case. The belt was squeaky for several weeks before breaking.
