ok, Raptor Racing which is located in Toronto is interested in producing custom cat-backs for Toyota models that have little or no aftermarket support and offer quality cat back systems for these vehicle, provided there is enough interest. If the community shows enough interest, they will even start stocking these custom cat-backs for retail sale and possibly even start producing other exhaust components as well in the future.

The 6th gen doesn't have much selection when it comes to a full cat-back system (i think the greddy SP/SP2 is the only one and those are hard to find) so here is a chance to get another custom exhaust made

The systems are:
-either 2.25" or 2.5" or 3" Piping in Polished Stainless Steel
-mandrel bent
-tig welded
-come with polished stainless resonator
-made with stainless steel
-complete with all required gaskets
-made with stainless hardware
-includes a magnaflow muffler of your choice that has a 14" long muffler body with a 7" long tip

In order for this to even happen, the first run requires at least 10people + me (so total 11 people) that want the same size piping. (it's 10 + me because I'm going to bring my car in for the prototype one)

If there is also a bunch of people that want another size piping, dont worry, if we can gather another 10 people interested in the other size, they can produce it as well.

Each person is able to choose any magnaflow muffler their heart desires as long as it meets the requirements of having a 14" long muffler body with a 7" long tip (the specific muffler dimensions is because the test fitting will be done with that particular size)

It takes roughly 2-3months from the day the prototype is built until the production cat-back is ready to be released

In order for the shop to even start any work, they require a deposit of $100USD from each person in the group buy.

The price of these custom cat-backs is $400USD + Shipping. This is the cheapest price they can offer whether we have 10 people or 50 people.

Please note they will be built in Toronto Canada

Here are some pictures of the work the shop has done for other vehicles:

u mean does it go under or like oem that goes up and over hte braces right? this is one of the things that we can decide on since it's custom. since they aren't in production yet it cant be decided until there is enough interest. then once a protoype is built if any changes are needed with the routing and stuff that will be worked out before a production set is made

interesting..Raptor racing does good work. They do alot of work for the toronto supra club. Theres a guy who did a twin-turbo manifold for a 7mgte that looks like it could have been HKS. What would the price be on the system?? My gf is buyin a celica soon, so if i sell her my exhaust i would be down for one of these.

well i'm in if it goes though and its a good product, how about a choice of mufflers? Magnaflow's are very nice (good deep tone) but tip wise etc.

I vote 2.5 inch pipe because its a great size if people upgrade there motors (turbo, etc,) and since the stock header/cat provide plenty of back pressure for thoes that dont upgrade there motor.

side note: thoes pics look like they do very nice work.

yea, they are just finishing some work for some supras right now before starting this new venture... the price would be 400-420USD for 10 people.

yea, the 2.5" would be good for people looking to upgrade motors... but i always heard of the 2.25" being max you should go on a stock 5sfe... haven't heard about the stock header/cat thing having enough back pressure... but if there is like @ least 10 people interested in the 2.25"and 10 people interested in the 2.5", they could produce both. i'm not sure about the 7afe tho...

as fpr muffler thing do you mean to ask if you can pick stuff other than a magnaflow?

ST? GT? or both? I might be in. Are they different anyways? Any chances for a header also?

well.. you can choose from any of magnaflow's mufflers as long as they have 14" body length, and have a 7" long tip. diameter will be whatever you end up choosing.

um.. it's location would be where that size muffler would fit the best?

The muffler finish would be whatever they come as from magnaflow (i think they are all polished stainless steel) you can check out their website @ www.magnaflow.com

the differences for an st/gt would be piping size. st would require smaller pipe diameter.
when i first asked, it was 2.25" and 2.5" piping.
the 2.25" would be best for a stock GT/GT-S.
2.5" would be for ST or GT that plans to do engine work...
i'm not sure what size piping would be optimal for a stock ST as i don't have much experience with the 7afe.
it depends how many people we get interested.. if there are at least 10 people with an ST that are interested, i can ask about a smaller size.

as far as headers go, that'll ahve to wait until later. they have to see how much interest there is within the community first. If this GB flops, chances of it happening are lower.

so far we have:
1. ElvaSoShexai
2. lake1069
3. TheStreetzKing (Maybe)

Would they be willing to do this for the 5th gens, I would be down for 3" at that price.

This should be posted on all celica boards cuse the price is great.

well.. the greddy sp says it's only for gt... so i dunno if there is a difference in routing or because it needs smaller piping since it's a smaller engine... but if enough people with st's are interested and knows what piping fits their car best we could get one going for an st too

that's a lot of celica forums... i'll try posting on some of them....
they can make one for the 5th gen. but the same rules apply. they need 10+ people interested in one as well as someone in toronto to bring their car in for the prototype

oh yea, for the people that said they are in or maybe in, could you also state what size piping you'd like? thanks!

sweet, I'm down for 2.5 or 3 I could go either way. But I don't know how this would work as there are only 4 swapped 5th gens that might want this kinda set up locally, I'll be the test pig though if you need one located in mississauga
