Is it worth it to make your turn signals and side markers clear? I mean, i was reading the how to, and wow 2 hours plus drying for the turn signals. And like an hour ish for the side markers. Is it worth the time??? Also, I got a question, I took out my turn signals, and was trying to find how to replace the stock bulb??? How do you do that, I don't want to break anything... Oh yeah, what wattage is that, the parts database only says the bulb number... Thanks

the question is, is it worth it to you ?
the bulb wattage is irrelivent, the bulbs are numbered to determine the bulb function (i.e. 194 - sidemarker, 1157 - turn signal) more info - bulb 1156 (not used on USDM Celicas) has one filiment (parking light bulb) and a different base than a 1157 which has 2 filiments (parking and braking bulb). -------------------- |

I had clear turns and sidemarkers on my car, but I turned them back into amber. Honestly, stock parts are better quality than custom/ aftermarket parts.

I would say no...
but, you can buy sidemarkers on procarparts.com...as you can see from my sig below, i have bought sidemarkers, then made custom clear turns. The custom turns are are not as good quality as your OEM, i would not have done it if i know what a pain it was going to be. but like batman said, it depends how much you want them ~snap edit: You can buy clear turns for the 94-95 bumper from a guy from the UK...they're pretty $$ though... edit 2: here is a link to those clear turns you can buy http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=30785&st=0 This post has been edited by snapshotgt: Feb 25, 2006 - 10:52 PM -------------------- Past: V6 Swapped 6G Celica, E46 BMW M3, Jeep Wrangler TJ

I've the clear JDM side indicators.
I reckon they look better than the stock amber ones. i just dont like the look of the amber color..and two hours is a very long time. I did my turns in like 30 minutes while watching TV. its no biggie. Just do it at night, so that you can let them dry over night and then just throw em back on in the morning....The hardest part is making sure you get the glue/silicone to look/fill the gaps.

Last night, i was looking at my car and noticed that my sidemarkers don't even turn on... What's the problem with that??? Honestly at first, I thought they were just reflectors.. Im not sure if the bulbs burnt out or if the wires are bad or fuse is bad. Any thoughts on this... Oh yeah, I looked in the owners manual and my front turn signals are 1156 not 1157? make a diff?

the only difference it makes is in what bulb to buy. When you goto the parts store, they tell you what bulb it is anyways (incase you have any doubts) Make sure you test one problem at a time on those sidemarkers. Check the bulbs first, and then check the fuse, and then the wires.

I custom cleared my turn signals and didn't come close to taking 2 hours. More like half an hour.. I never looked off of this how-to for it. I just did them myself before i was a member on this site. I don't know how the how-to is but i just put mine in the oven. (since glue melts faster then plastic) Then just took the block out put um back in the oven to get glue to melt and put them together, then threw them into the freezer. It was easy. But the sidemarkers i never did i just got pcp ones. But now i have pcp clear turns and side markers. I like my turns and sided white. (way better then amber) my opinion.

i custom mounted 5th gen turn signals. it turned out much better than anything i ever could've made. it just takes a lil creativity and the fear of f-ing up (which also comes with clearing your own lights). and it actually looks clear and shiny.
