The catch is where its located probably. Theres some nice areas in houston, and some really really bad areas. Theres no hurricanes to worry about, Texas is so spread out and dry that hurricanes never make it to the inland, they always dissolve around the coast. It is VERY humid in houston, its just a musky place.

It is very cheap to live around here. Gas is crazy high thats the only downfall. Apartments go from 300-600 a month, 2 story houses in good negbohoods go for 200k. Mansion like you said on the country side are around 300k. Hurricanes like he said never touch houston only the gulf and galveston area. It get very humid down here in the summer. Weather is never the same for 3 days. Right now it's like one day hot, one day cold, one day rainy as hell. IMO Houston is one of the best racing capitols in the US and best places to live. |

its crazy, because here in philly, i live in a 3 bedroom "row house". its small, ghetto looking and connected to 10 other houses but its worth 200+k. seeing what i could live in, for the same price in huston, blows my mind.
you said huston is devided to 3 basic places. can you give me the names of the towns so that i could see if what im looking at is in the cicty, small town or country? i would like to stay in a small town, but something thats close to the city. so the weather is basically, hot and humid in the summer with not hurricanes, tornadoes, etc? -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned

Just like oOblackOo said.
i use www.city-data.com to get useful information when traveling within the U.S. Nearest cities: West University Place, TX (4.7 miles ), Southside Place, TX (5.1 miles ), Bellaire, TX (6.9 miles ), Hilshire Village, TX (7.5 miles ), Hunters Creek Village, TX (8.1 miles ), Spring Valley, TX (8.6 miles ), Piney Point Village, TX (9.1 miles ), Hedwig Village, TX (9.4 miles ). (http://www.city-data.com/city/Houston-Texas.html) yep - you don't have to worry about hurricanes, tornadoes - unless you live near galveston daily high temp in march- around 70's daily low temp in march- around 50's humidity in the 90% the weather doesn't bother me at all, maybe that's because i live in tx |

(Matt) Negative (Me) killed that 3000 GT like he was a punk and I gave him a 2 car headstart from a 40 roll. Hopefully this will kill some of the BS on this site about how Celicas without swaps are pointless to mod and still slow as hell. Maybe some of the people on here need to learn how to drive their cars - LOL. Thanks very much to oOBLACKOo (Jeff) for all the video work and all the kind words. You were really a cool guy and I look forward to helping you mod your nice quick 6th gen. Glad to have you in HTC. BTW - yes rain owned all - the meet waas supposed to be at least twice that big. -------------------- |

lagos thats crazy that the little house you live in is worth that much...we have a 5 bedroom house here and its got its front and back yard, and its only like 150k....not quite a mansion but gives you a comparison. If i were to move to houston, id actually move to the Conroe area, or the Woodlands. I really liked the woodlands when i was there. but its a more expensive area to live.

Sugarland's really nice - never heard of the other. Nicest places are Woodlands, Kingwood and River Oaks. Katy tx. (which has now been pretty much assimilated into Houston) is a nice mix of cheap but nice houses. Mine cost around 77K but is now worth like 125K.
So now my taxes own and my Celica suffers - LOL. -------------------- |

Ive heard good things about Sugarland... Another option for you is to move maybe move towards the Dallas area, or even the austin area. Dallas is much colder then the other towns, and has a nice mix of cities and towns. as an austin resident, i love it. So many trees and mountains and greenbelts and nice views. Anywhere in texas except downtownish houston, west texas, and close to the border will be a great choice.
