i think so too...i was told it wasn't a good thing because it can lead to a lot of problems...especially for ride comfort.

I remember doing that to my car when I first got it... being broke from paying for the car and all..

Wasn't pleasant at all... everytime you hit a pot hole or a minor bump it feels like the shocks are bottoming out.

I wouldn't drive around like that too long, you're gonna blow your struts in the middle of the road.

Edit: Damn I just noticed that it's a '99... Take care of your Celica man!

Sometimes you can cut them and it's okay. You have to use a grinder or sawzal. If you use a torch, you'll mess with the springs preset spring rate. It's not really a good idea, especially on a good car. If you have a beater, or a car your trying to budge rally/drift or whatever, it might be worth a shot before you buy springs.

Thats some pretty good PS skills smile.gif
I thought you would be smarter not to cut your springs.
Seem like you need some body work as well.

What is the point of posting something like this?

the point is to generate discussion...everytime there is an exchange of ideas on a topic everyone learns a little lesson. For myself it was:

1. don't cut your springs to lower your ride
2. i really need to do the bodywork
3. some people see what they want...others will put you in your place if you try to fool them

PS. CelicaZR thanks for the compliment. You are all a great bunch of people here. i am really enjoying the forums.
