I am hoping that some of you out there with your wisdom can shed some light on a noise that I have coming from under the hood. I am thinking that it is my clutch release bearing, but I could be completely wrong. Am wondering if it is maybe a bearing on the front of the transmission, anyone have similar experience.
The noise under my hood sounds almost like a mild grinding noise and only happens on and off (but rather frequently). At first I thought it was my air intake because it sounded like air rushing in, but it is not my intake it is deeper in the engine bay. I noticed when I was driving though that the noise wasn't there when I was stopped at a light with my clutch fully depressed or when I was driving and changes gears (once again clutch in). This is what led me to believe it has to do with the clutch. There is no slipping in the clutch or problems with the clutch or transmission that I am aware of, it is just the noise. If anyone can give me some helpful information that would be great. Thanks. |

its either a clutch related issue or an axel problem.
