now anymore i dont feel good posting something here, just 2 -3 guys supporting out of the crowd

I worry about a lot of people getting turned away. Please stay. There are nice members who will be willing to help you.

we're telling you the truth kidd, if you guys havn't figured it out yet, celicas are slow unless major modding and major money $$ was spent on it, the guys above me are right, stop racing cars out of your league before you blow up your motor or mess something up

Be careful what you say please. Not only did you swear, which wasn't nessisary, you made yourself look unintelligent with your comments. The Celica is a slow car without moddification. Heck, it's not too fast with them. But I could race F1 cars every day without "blowing my motor or messing something up." I would lose every time. Major money doesn't need to be spent unless you want a drag car. Look at my car, I don't have much, but it's still fun and quick. With the investment of some sway bars (Soon to come), and some lowering springs and shocks, I'll have a nice car for the track. I haven't spent to much either. But if you are going to do the swap, like defgeph said, it's best to have around $5k just in case. I'm sure everything will work out fine.

yea bud we dont want to discourage ya from talking on the frums. its just some people will easily diss you when they dont think youre doing something sensible (racing cars out of your league) heh you deserved to get burned a lil bit for that. but overall were all good guys on here. I havent posted on the forums much, but everyday im on here reading and reading. I don htink youre ready for a 3s swap yet, ive been researching for 6months and saving for the same amount. I kno thatz a long time but theres prob nothing you cant tell me that i havent learned form these fourms over that time. ya man but everyone is right $ 1700 is going to be very hard to pull off a swap. Most 3s'(2nd gens) cost around 1,800 to 2,000. even on top of that youre going need money for extra knick nacks that you never planned to buy then past that labor?(def not cheap) unless you can do it yourself. Tranny? Tune up? Timing belt? Wiring harness?
im sure im missing a billion other things but best thing you should do is search the fourms first then ask some of the guys whohave done the swap presonally any questions you might have. but save ya cash too cause 2k its just gonna make ya have a bad day when you find out a part was broken and you need more money to fix it. Keep ya head up man save up and wish you the best of luck on gettin it done someday.

im sure your car handles very well, but it's just not fast on the 1320 AKA a straight line (where most street races occur and ironically enough where this thread originated from) if nothing major was done it. Read my post again, i said "major modding and major money", major was the key word there (forced induction, engine swap, cams, etc etc) sure, do the typical I/H/E on the 5sfe and 7afe, it still wouldn't stand a chance against an srt4. Sorry if i offended anyone, but im telling the guy to be more smart out there and try racing someone closer to your league, unless you're looking for a new engine, or feel like wasting gas ($2.50 per gallon where I live)

^^Once I get my sway bars on, and my springs and shocks, I'll take on a srt-4 on the road course. Or any 3sgte for that matter. It's not all about hp unless it's a drag. Most street races are drag races, but with the Celica, you have to consider other types of racing. I do love a high hp car, but it's really not going to help too much unless you get to some big strates.

Man I wish that was true but you're delusional, I don't care what you have handling wise if you have a 3 second lead on an srt-4 at the end of the course and he gets a small strait away your dead. I'm sure you're going to come back "You don't know how to drive" blah blah but seriously, you just don't stand a chance. Additionally the previous poster Pure_DX did not make himself look unintelligent but every post I have seen you make recently has done just that, I don't post often but I am honestly getting tired of your dreams you insist upon explaining every topic I have read you post in, your car is slow! ACCEPT IT OR SWAP IT!

Additionally "But I could race F1 cars every day without "blowing my motor or messing something up."" That’s not true, every race mile is equal to something like 100 or so miles on your engine, so if you race an f1 every day you would probably either blow something up, or mess something up, your car doesn’t like strain. Stop giving it to it.

That being said we are missing the family atmosphere we used to have, but frankly the lectures don't help, no one needs a dad in this family unless its an admin. Just be ready to learn, stupid questions should not and will not be insulted, its only comments that really arouse the crowd.

laugh.gif Have you ever seen/been in/driven a 3sgte celica, or been in/driven an SRT4? Its like night day, and the extra skidpad you may receive from the sway bars isnt going to make up for the 100hp difference which will just totally annhialate you.

Ok fine since we are on a subject I beat a lamborghini cause I was flying over in in a 747 boing, I beat a mustang.. on foot yes on foot.. he was stuck in traffic and yes I had the pleasure of beating integra once because he raced off the traffic light got pulled over before reaching the second and i merely beat him by 30 or so cars doing the speedlimit. In all realism racign a car outside your hp range and outside your class is useless...
A stock celica gt will never beat srt4 because its almost 1/2 hp of the dodge. Secondly he can beat you on and off road because of his car build, even when stock. Lastly I have to apologize for all of us bashing you but we just convey the truth.. some of us are being polite about it.. some are not so polite

I'm just trying to say that hp doesn't matter too much on a tight track. You can't agrue with that. But you are right, if a swapped Celica had enough of a strate, I wouldn't have much of a chance. And by your logic, the racing an F1 car thing, even if I does put 100miles on the car per race, my econo motor should handle the high milage better than a turbo motor. I know my car is slow. That's an unargueable fact. I just would like people to take these cars as they are. You can still have fun with them and make them handle nice. No need to be depressing about it.

As far as the family atmosphere going away and me lecturing, I'm just trying to do my part. Just because I'm not a modderater doesn't mean I don't have the right to say something. Modderaters have pm'd me and thanked me for doing what I have before. It's not like I'm doing anything that is anti productive. If it turns out I'm wrong, I'll stop. You're the first person to say something negative about my attempts to bring this site back to the point it was.

Even on a solo track I wouldn't have a chance? I know my car isn't fast at all. A lot of autoX tracks have big strates, in which case I would not hold a chance against a boosted Celica. Who was it saying awhile back that they had a 3sgte mr2, and their friend had a 5sfe mr2, and it was hard to the 3sgte to loose the 5sfe on the streets? Again I'll say, I don't think my car is fast, but there's more too it than strate up hp. Otherwise, you might as well get a muscle car.

I prefer accurate knowledge rather than nice people tbh.

I nice person will always try to help, if they know or not. This leads to searching for more information and working together. Which is the whole point of the website. Acturate info is great, but if people continue to be mean with one another and drive people off, we lose researchers. Everyone driven off is a potential knowledgable person. There has to be some smart people drove out of here, and they probably could have given us all some accurate info. Even some of the younger ones who don't know anything have the desire to try, and should be given a chance. Remember a while back when someone met a Celica owner and invited them to the site and the person said something like, "Oh, 6gc, one of those F'ers." Person obviously had a bad experiance here. I really don't want to be associated with a site that's thought to be mean/stuck up. I loved this place when I was a community, and I just want it to be like that again. It's funny, all the bashing on the Honda people and Honda forums, and that exactly what some people want to be like.
^Stupid lecture

Theres a AutoX guy in my area that use to race his 88? Tercel HB.. he told me he was probably pushing 100whp in his 3EE, He use to beat 911s and S2Ks

I also saw a MKI.5 catch up on a Talon? (the AWD ones) in a road course. they had a 10sec difference at start
^
that part isnt really relevant since the MKI is swapped

sorry but i call bs. The ONLY way the Tercel with 100 whp could catch a 911, which depending on the year, comes with about 260 hp and is MADE for cornering. Unless the Porsche blew an engine or a nuclear missile hit his car, there is no way the tercel could catch up.
