2.2L means he has a stroker motor

using a 5sfe crank that has been machined to fit 3sgte rods and then cryotreated for hardness

yamaha i believe designs the intake manifolds???

if not o-well, but they do help, and they help w/ several Toyota Motors.

Yamaha is usually involved with the head design. They've done quite a few motors in concert with Toyota, 3S-GE & 3S-GTE, 1JZ, 2TZFE, 2ZZGE.

The 20 valve 4AGE series was built almost entirely under the advisement of Yamaha, who at the time believed that the 20v 4cyl. head design would benefit Toyotas performance motors just as much as they did Yamaha's racing bikes. In 1994 I'm sure 100+ horsepower per liter N/A from the factory was a technological wonder....now its been done time and time again without using the 5v/cyl configuration.

Yamaha also did most of the design on the Ford Taurus SHO's motor.....not nearly as glorious an achievement, but its funny since alot of those guys go as far as to replace the Ford emblem with a Yamaha logo. I guess if thats what makes them feel better about their cars, then whatever. wink.gif

But anyway, Yamaha pwns us all.
