Ok, so it's confirmed that HP Design Wheels does NOT make the HPR5 in black with the Celica 5x100 bolt pattern. But, they do have the following (these are 18x8 with a 38mm bs):

Silver

Gunmetal

Gold

So, I want opinions. What color would look best on a red 99 GT with tint (35% probably)??? I'm kinda feeling the gold although I REALLY wanted the black. Gunmetal is nice too though. Shoot, I could even get the silver and have the clear coat stripped and the powdercoated black if I REALLY wanted.

If anyone has pics of gold wheels on a red celi, post them up!!!

Any other rim suggestions?? Pre-requisite is they must be a 5 spoke design, clean, with a decent lip. NO CHROME.

We're looking to do the wheels immediately after the motor swap.

If you choose those wheels, definately go for the gunmetal ones. They look pretty nice.

Well, black would be the optimal choice, but they're just not available. My only option there would be to have a silver set powdercoated. Pricey, but unique at that point. The gunmetal would be nice for sure, but it would be the ONLY gunmetal piece on the car, which I don't want. At least the black would go with the tint. We'll see what happens at crunch time in a couple of months.

i think you should definatley either find a similar rim in black, cuz your car would be dead sexy w/ black rims. If not, i dont think you should go gunmental...maybe silver, i just dont like the red and grey, not a good accent to me.

Well, right now I'm leaning towards the gunmetal. I took a look at it and they would be next to impossible to actually powdercoat black and leave the lip polished due to the bolts around the perimeter. I've got a line on a couple of others that are promising but they don't have the width (18x7.5) I'd like given the soon-to-be newfound power.

There's a semi-local shop to me here in NJ/PA that does custom powdercoating (www.boneheadperformance.com) that I'm going to check with to see if they can powdercoat a silver set in black and leave the bolts polished. If they can, I'm so there.
