My mom told me this earlier. First thing popped into my head, was because of the blu-ray technology.

i don't mind waiting. i think it'll totally out do xbox 360. plus i hear a normal blu-ray player will cost about $1000. so a blu-ray player that also plays video games for $500 seems like a deal.

Doubt it. PS3 might actually out do itself. What if the BR disc lose the format war? Plus the graphics are on par and MAYBE alittle bit bitter than the 360's.(This is coming from insiders and developers.) But who knows...we'll see.

Blue-Ray is a technology that utilizes a "blue" laser to read discs. I'm not going to go into all the techie talk, but basically it allows for discs to be compressed more to allow more data storage. It also improves the quality of movies among other things. HD-DVD is another next-gen format that uses a blue laser technology and is produced by Toshiba. It stores less data on dics but is easier to develop in comparison to blue-ray and will allow the consumer to play thier old DVD's as well.

As for the 360... any next gen console is going to have games that don't quite live up to gamers expectations. Look at PS2 when it launched. Developers need more time to get accustomed to the new technology. They have some bad azz games coming out though. rolleyes.gif

I've held off on the 360 for now, despite being an avid gamer. It really didnt wow me as much as i thought. Im glad the PS3 is waiting untill november, to be honest i thought it would take longer. The blu-ray thing is a big gamble. Why? Because it new technology. And new doesnt always mean better. I have yet to decide which of the 2 next-gens i will be getting, but the revolution is certainly out of the picture. I was once a nintendo fan boy during the golden SNES and N64 era, but im tired of their weird ass gimmicks now.

I feel or felt the same way. C'mon now... Kameo!?! I like the old xbox so I tried my best to convince my self that 360 was the $hit. But I had to face reality and lauch time wasn't buying time for me. Now that MS is releasing titles such as Gears of War, Too human(the story is bad azz), and Ghost Recon, things are looking up. I will have one probably in a month or two. Though I have never owned a Playstation, I hope that PS3 doesn't fall flat on its face. I might even buy that console as well. Now if only we can get a price on the thing!!!
