Ok, I'm DYING for a specific set of wheels on our car. The HP Design Wheels HPR5 in black. But they don't come in a 5x100 bolt pattern.
I've seen spacers on eBay that convert a 5x100 pattern to a 5x114.3 pattern. These spacers are 30mm thick. IF I was to run those with the 18x8 HPR5 with a +38mm offset, how would that look???? Someone, anyone??? -------------------- |

um, as far as adapters go I would be sure you get good quality stuff (not ebay) then be sure that it does not push the wheels out farther then stock at all, with 18x8's its gana be a snug fit as it is.

I think it can be done. The ones I'm looking at are 25mm thick, but I'm going to get a set in and have a local machine shop take a look at possibly taking a few mm off of the back side of the adapter if necessary. I saw some pics of a guys car on here with a 38mm offset on the wheels and a 25mm spacer, and it was RIGHT at the edge of the fender. Didn't look bad at all. Bump for the day crew. I need to know for sure if this will work. A 25mm Adapter with an 18x8 wheel using a +38mm offset.

I don't think it'd be a good idea. The rims will stick out about 5/8ths of an inch (15mm) further than in these pictures: ![]() ![]() This post has been edited by WannabeGT4: Mar 16, 2006 - 12:18 PM -------------------- ![]() Project ST204.5 99.88946% complete... |

Semi-good news: I just got off the phone with a company that can do a custom adapter with a minimum thickness of 20mm.
Using the basis that the stock 15x7 wheel has an offset of 38 and knowing that the new 18x8 wheel has a 38mm offset, I'm left with a 13mm difference using the calculator at the following link: http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp Using some simple inch to mm conversions to calculate where the offsets are from the outer lip of the wheel, when using a 20mm spacer I'll have the wheel pushed out 7.3mm from stock. That's not bad at all and should look fine. Downside??? I'm going to pay $285 for the adapters. They're 100% lifetime guaranteed though. Really nice guy I talked to, gave me a good rundown on the ezaccessory.com ones. Let's just say stay away from those. That's not right. The 8" wide 38mm offset rim extends 12mm further than stock. If you add a 20mm spacer you're pushing the wheel out exactly 20mm more meaning that you are now 32mm extended further than stock not 7.3mm.

You can start by adding chrome fender liners and an outrageous tint scheme. Add some Ranchero music and gold plate everything possible. Then the wheels sticking out the sides will look in their place

I'd have to get a silver set, strip all the clearcoat, most likely disassemble it (I believe it's a 2 piece) powdercoat the center section, reassemble, and re-clear coat. On a $700 set of wheels I'll be in it for AT LEAST $1200 when it's done, but have something very unique (although only if you're aware of the work that went in to it). -------------------- |

I'm pretty sure it's only simulated two piece. Paint would be fine if you do it right. Powdercoating is expensive.
Have you contacted the manufacturer to make sure that these aren't available in black? They're available in silver and gunmetal so I wouldn't think it'd be too difficult to have them make you a set in black. -------------------- ![]() Project ST204.5 99.88946% complete... |

Hey Fastbird, you have PM. I finally found the link I was looking for......Hopefully it will help you alot-
http://www.6gc.net/index.php?action=members&itu=3782 A member here uses those same wheels, but you may want to talk to him to see what brand they are....they may be the same design, but by a different manufacturer with the correct pattern or maybe he can help you get a set that fits without spending more money than you need to. Just lookin out for ya. ![]() -------------------- 3rd gen ST205 3SGTE - Alive and boosting. |

I've been searching for rims too, and there are several other rims that are similar to what you are looking for . check out Konigs or Speedywheels new line up. black face rims with polished or chrome lips are becoming very popular. Dont rush it.

Meaning if you push this spacer + your wheel then the offset will be as +8. It 's mean, your wheel will be overlap the overfender anyway. The better idea is try to sale it and buy a new set if possible or use 10 mm spacer that made from high-strength alloy which could be a made-to-order.. goodluck.. ![]() |
