Can anyone tell me how to replace my spark plugs. I figure mine haven't been changed for a long time so I just picked up some NGK platinums. TY.
PS: i tried searching but i saw nothing that had to do with replacing spark plugs |

pull spark plug wires, put in spark plug socket with extension, turn counterclockwise and they should come out, use 3/8" rubber hose and apply to tip of new spark plug, put some anti-sieze gunk on screw part of spark plug, hand feed the new plug in and twist into its going in, pull hose out and tighten with socket, repeat with 3 others. sounds like u should do a whole tuneup, if so get new distributor cap and rotor and rubber seal, new spark plug wires and might as well pick up a chilton manual on the 6GC.

anti seize means the next time you change them they wont get stuck and will come out easy. the hose is to make sure you screw it in right and not jam the threads.

most stores give you the option of pre-gapped ones and non-gapped. i think they are the same price.

whats cross threading mean?
so LewFX, you attach the rubber hose to the end of the plug to feed it in, and screw it a little to make sure it connects right, then u remove it and use the wrench when its going in correctly? y cant u just use your fingers to first do this? ^^ no you cant use your fingers, but you can use like a plug wire to get it into the hole, then use the ratchet, it is wuite simple, 5 mins at the most

unless you have a 8 inch by 2 inch hand, you cant reach down there and hand thread it, thats why i recommend a robber hose.

use a spark plug socket and the extension to put the plug back into place, that will hold it straight and keep it from cross threading. theres a special rubber peice in the spark plug socket that will hold onto the plug. dab a little bit of light oil (like wd40) on the rubber inside of it to keep the socket from getting stuck on the plug.
