whats up guys, ive looked all over this site and i dont know if this has been covered but i notice that we have 6gc lovers all over the place, from france, to germany, russia, england even new zeland and i just found out where cyprus was! but why is it that the birth place of the celica is not represented? where are all the japanese enthusiasts? i know they would have a great perspective to share!

just somethign that occured to me... confused.gif

^^ this is true. Ive heard that Japanese often change thier cars every 2 or 3 years. This is why there are a ton of cheap used cars there that we drool over.

Yeah i belive the government over there almost insists they change every few years , i think they hit older cars with higher taxs/insurance etc etc. I guess it helps the economy and gets rid of old cars in way for newer "greener" engines

that's right guy's as i've heard
after two year you have get the car tested for safety and so on which cost $2000 the first year $2500 the next $3000 the next and so on........
plus a car over two years old can only by parked in the city if you have a permit (expencive) or the car is under 3m long !

i could be wrong but that was how i was told the reason for exporting all the nearly new cars !!!!!!!!!!!

and we think we've got it bad !!!!!!!!!

It is true that the main reason for the Japanese 6gc Owners it is the language, but Japanese Owners Clubs are working great and they focus mostly on local meetings.
It is good to meet 6gc owners from all over the world!
It is so great for us that we are from a small country like Cyprus and help owners to find out where it is smile.gif

You should notice that many countries maybe have more owners that they dont use Internet! It is difficult to find other method than internet to interchange.

Beacuse we are from a small island we are very close each other owner, lets say Tufy, recycle, maikl, neoklis etc we meet very often, but we have meeting also with so many other owners that they are not using internet and they having great 6gc cars!!!SO LETS PUSH everybody to use INTERNET smile.gif

I can't remember where I read it, but you're pretty close to what it is... I didn't think it was that expensive, but ya, they do have to get the car inspected every 2 years, and there's an inspection fee and they always find stuff to fix, so the bill could run high... so everyone just gets a new car every couple of years, and that's why cars are so cheap to buy from japan

Cuprys has a lot of modified jdm cars, and i have speak to a lot of guys that i met in Greek dragster races.
I know a great yellow skyline in cyprus and i would like to see one of your Gt-fours in a race oneday here in Greece!! I ve read articles about some of your cars and they seem to be extremely fast!!!
Unfortunately we have not here any supras or skyline, but you can find some great celicas on the road, and most of the drivers love streetracing or dragging. As you might know, the best awd car here is Jim Barbaris st205 and it is very difficult to find a good opponent for his everyday use celi of propably 600hp++ powered engine..
Last week i saw him in "nightraces" with a red toyota starlet. I dont know what kind of modifications he had done to that thing but it was a real "giant killer" monster..
