You think they look good in that photo? I've seen these lights in the flesh and they are the best rear lights for the 6 I've seen. If only you lot could see them in the dark - they're even better!
I know the bloke who made them and I'll let him know about this thread!

Sweet, he should post a how-to tongue.gif ...

Hey everyone. This is vsideboy, the creator and owner of the lights in this topic.

Many thanks for all the positive comments you've given and thanks to johny for pointing out to me that the lights are now famous over in USA too haha.

Yes I had to buy a couple of sets of second hand rear clusters (standard not JDM) and what with a slight melting mishap (OK, total melting!) and a dodgy git taking my money and not sending the lights, these are the 3rd set that I have had.

Unfortunately I cannot provide you with any nighttime pictures as I was unhappy with them and have now taken them to pieces and am currently in the middle of remaking the internals out of fibreglass.

All the internals are custom made, even the circuit board design (no it wasn't just a plug your stuff in 5 minute job!) The biggest pain in the neck was the perspex lens as it bends horizontally and vertically and it is also twisted so it's not an exact fit, but its the best I could do at the time and took alot of heating, bending, wrong, reheating, rebending, still wrong, etc.

Incase you were wondering, I have designed them so that the outer rings of led's light with the sidelights on, all the rings light with the brake lights and the centre ring of the 2 nearest the numberplate light with the foglights. The outer 3 lines of leds are for the indicators.

Oh and I have also changed the centre bootlid brake light to 2 rows of red leds and also 2 rows of white leds so that I do have a reversing light (they don't light much up in the dark, but they are there so hopefully they'll keep the plod happy)

Anyway, once I get them redone, I'll try to sort out a few more pics for you.

Take it easy and have fun

Dan

This may be a silly question but why do you guys refer to JDM tailights like they are the holy grail of tailights? are they that hard for you to get hold of in the US? are they much different to USDM ones and UKDM ones? They cause us problems in the UK due to not being fitted with a foglight.

Thanks

Nathan

The foglights are the inner of the two red lenses on the late-JDM rear clusters, the reflector panel is the top half of the lense and the foglight the lower part, no-one on CCUK has had problems re: this as far as I'm aware.
