I'm a long ways away from a swap... but i'm kinda planning what to do/what to save up for, for my celica...
so i was just wondering for all the swappers out there... how many people got all the car functions working properly after? (ie. power steering, cruise control, air condition, abs.. etcetctec) just that i hear about a lot of people that don't have all those functions after a sawp and so i was curious... if something didn't work after a swap was it because you didn't want it anymore and disabled it/didn't rewire it or whatever, or was it because you couldn't get it working again due to something like a wiring issue or an engine issue? it would really suck if i spent all that money/time swapping and not be satisfied after because of it not having AC or something like that -------------------- |

I had face problems with the ac, but it happened due to wrong istallation.
All the other problems had been easily taken care because i had a whole front cut of a gt-four so i had everything nessesary. I believe that if you have a front cut, and not just an engine you will not face anything! |

Everything works fine on my car and I had no error lights at all.... musta done sumthin right fur once.
The only trouble I had was with the radio. The car had no battery for many months. The radio went into anti-theft mode when I powered things back up. The dealer had a bitch of a time unlocking it but it also works fine now. -------------------- 1994 GT-S (BEAMS) swap complete |

i was able to keep power steering but i got rid of my a/c lines and condensor(get a shorter alternator belt.) heater funtion was kept as well. nothing was lost really, i got my wiring done by DG performance i highly recomend him. Also there are no engine lights being thrown.

QUOTE(j0e_p3t @ Apr 1, 2006 - 7:50 AM) i heard not many people have ac or power steering after a 4age swap. that true? The a/c and power steering lines are different, lots of people just leave them disconnected. I plan on making sure that all of those things in the cars I work on still function like stock when I'm done, unless the customer requests otherwise. bboyrugged's swap, for example. -Doc -------------------- -Dr Tweak, 6GC's resident engine swap wiring expert extraordinaire Click here to see my swaps drtweak@phoenixtuning.com |
