Rebuilding a 3sgte for my swap. The question I have is whats the difference between the two pulleys they are the same size and have the same size bolt hole, but I can only get the idler pulley from the parts store. Is there a big difference and how does a person know when to replace?

Usually, it's replaced during service of the timing belt and water pump... when mine was replaced, the pulleys made a tiny whirling sound and that's supposed to mean the bearings on the pulley are starting to go.. says my mechanic. biggrin.gif of course, he could be just pulling my leg and trying to get me to spend more. laugh.gif .. of course, the new pulley didn't make any noise when spun.. so maybe he's right.
