wow never seen that available for the 6gc. wonder how it works. i've been told you dont need the clutch after first gear, then forward motion downshifts and a pull back is upshift. same shifter from WRC & other race cars.

That's interesting, but (and someone correct me if I'm wrong) a shifter is just that: A shifter. If you're talking about sequential clutchless shifting, that's a matter of a different tranny all together.

In Japan, we are making Sequen Shifter for 6gen CELICA from Japanese manufacturer "IKEYA FORMULA"
If you don't know about this, please check this web-site written by English
http://www.ikeya-f.co.jp/en/product_notice...en_shifter.html
it is not clutchless, You should step on the clutch pedal when the gear is changed
IKEYA FORMULA isn't producing it for 6gen CELICA
So Mr. fnn15 was made and he is installing

His feeling
He has been using it for one year or more
At first it was hard, but it came to be able to use it usually by using about 500km
Now My child of 4 years old moves it from passenger's seat by one hand

IKEYA FORMULA is hesitation whether to produce
Because it is not possible to do business if not selling by 50 or more
This system is very expensive
It will be about 100000yen ($850)

The person who wants to buy it doesn't come up by as many as 50 people in Japan
So IKEYA FORMULA don't produce
Please inquire of IKEYA FORMULA if you are interested
Even if you will not buy

I post you some photos

If you want to watch moves
You can watch this address (moves is about 12MB and there is in Japan) (not CELICA)

Thats not bad for a sequential shifter.
Could you make the shifter lower?
Whats the other thing next to it that
looks like another handbrake?

Having the shifter up high keeps it nice and close to the steering wheel. This makes for quicker reactions. I'm wondering what that other lever is too. I don't think it's an e-brake though, cause the car still has the stock, and there's not reason to put it there. Might be for adjustments or something.

I'm changing my guess from adjustment to reverse. That's probably what it is.

i DEFENITLY like this concept...not sure on the market for them but 850$ usd seams like a lot of money....personally i would like the shifter to sit lower since 99.9% of us are street driven cars..i would like to see this marketed for the 6gc but in a more economical costing (if possible) and potentially about 4" shorter

I'm pretty sure there was someone working on one of these for the 5th gen maybe a year ago or so. He was on celica.net. Dunno where he went.

HMMM... Do we have any reverse engineers on this site?
