Im planning to buy a ST205 front clip with a MR2T E153 tranny + LSD to do a swap. But i have some questions for those who use a E153 from the MR2T with their 3rd gen 3SGTE and I want 100% sure answers (ive ask those questions to Doc Tweek but he's not sure since he never used E153 with his swaps). So..

1. can you tell me if the MR2T (with LSD) tranny will work with all ST205 front axles?

2.if not, which one from the MR2T I need (please be specific, example: rear/front ,left/right, w/ABS or not,inner/outer)?
(im asking that since the engine from he MR2T is at the rear and celi is in front..so im not sure which is the one i need...also...on some sites..i see axles for ABS and some for non-ABS....my car has ABS so I choose with ABS right?)

3.do you see any more parts that ill need to buy to complete the swap (keep in mind that im auto and ill use all parts that the front clip will offer me)

TIA

Not 100% sure on this one but I would say ST205 outters "should" work in place of ST185 outters.

Well, since the MR2 is a MR, the drive axels are in the rear, so you would need those for the inner axels.

correct

3.do you see any more parts that ill need to buy to complete the swap (keep in mind that im auto and ill use all parts that the front clip will offer me)

If you search, you will find all the information you need on this one.

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

Is far is i know you need the MR2T Axles and ST205 axles wont fit.
I also read somewhere that when you use the MR2T trans you need to custom make an engine mount (rear one??)

Since you have an auto trans now you need (which wont be on the front cut):
Shifter assembley (directly go for the TRD shortshifter)
Shifter cables

Frontclip is usually a cut from the firewall. So everything from there is missing. I dont think the leave the shifter cables intact.

Nope you need st185 axles the 205 axles don't bolt together like 185 and mr2 axles.

You need the rear axles from what ever year the tranny is from. ABS shouldn't matter because all you are doing is using the inner part of the axle, but get ABS just to be safe.

3.do you see any more parts that ill need to buy to complete the swap (keep in mind that im auto and ill use all parts that the front clip will offer me)
You need all the parts for an auto to manual swap, cluth pedal cables etc... do a search for this.

TIA

Also, the drivers side inner axles are different for the LSD trans. I had a non-lsd axle in a lsd equiped trans and it leaked badly. The passenger side doesnt matter.

So its MR2 inners matching the trans (lsd or non-lsd) and 90-93 Celica ST185 outers to match the hub (abs or non-abs)

I have the opposite. I have a non-lsd passenger side in my TRD lsd and it leaks badly, drivers side is fine.

Basically the rule of thumb is get the axles with the tranny you have.

If your useing the carrier bearing and bracket the passenger side axle should never pop out, its the driverside you have to worry about.

this is debated so many times. This is why next week I should have pictures + an entire write up of a e153 swap. I had to get so many parts from an solara for my e153 like the shift actuator and all kinds of shifter cable parts. Ill post all the parts later. But here is what you will have to do. If you are using all st205 mounts your good on mounts. For the tranny you will need a shift actuator from a solara plus the whole shifter assembly. Now for the axles you will need mr2 lsd turbo axles (good luck expect to spend some good money on these) And alltrac outers and you should be good.

My front clip had the cables intact as it was cut at the ashtray.

No thats the entire problem I'm having right now. I had to go find 93+ LSDs which are hard to find and expensive because I had 91 OEM LSDs.
