So, i just bought my celi this saturday, and it already has started to accumulate damage. The small dent came from my girlfriends mother, who had a little too much to drink, and decided to have some fun. Im a new stickshifter, so i was reversingly slowly, and shes like "get going" and pushes my car, above the wheel well with her foot... BAD IDEA. theres now a small ding/dent thing there. Nothing huge, but the light relfeclts off it differently. Then, driving home from my gf's place the following morning... a small pebble flew up and nailed my windshield. Wow, bad start. Anyways, ive included a picture of the winshield, but am currently trying to photograph the dent in such a way that it shows up on my camera. What I want from you guys is to know what you have done in theses situations... should i repair my windshield (ie, get the crack filled), and should i attempt to hammer out teh dent myself (again, its very small.... i dont wanna have to sand//paint). Any advice would be awesome, but keep in mind im a poor university student.
justin Alright. I decided the best way to show the dent was to invert the picture. Its easier to see the distortion of the reflection. becareful if you try to undent the dent yourself it can become even worse....check around see if there are any "paintless dent removal" companies in your area and how much they would charge...
the winshield i've heard you can hair spray it to prevent it from spiderwebbing....you can go to your local parts shop and they should have a window repair kit for less then 10$ |
