Well my valve cover seals is damaged .. so before installing the new one i took the time to clean one of the extra valve covers i have laying around to make the install of the new seal go quicker ..
i was out of oven cleaner an was to early to run to the store ( yes i use easy off to clean valve covers (only when its off the engine) ).. this valve cover had alot of caked on oil on it .. as i layed the cover on my desk i happen to see i had a box or razor blade in my draw.. so i got the idea to just srap the caked on oil off ... an damn it clean up the cover better then anything i have used before... i'm still going to clean it with oven cleaner (might post a pic when its done ) so far its looking great ... just thought i would share... -------------------- |

I just took a really fine grit sand paper and put water on my valve cover and sanded away. I just kept adding water to the valve cover which cleaned off the sand paper at the same time. 20 minutes later it looked really nice! Like New!!
