Heh, uh, I think 300HP is doubtful, since Supra is on it's way.

it looks better than the 7th gen, but its still not as pretty as ours. Engine wise? I'd forget that they're not as pretty for that much hp. -------------------- psalm 69 |

I agree with the G35/350Z comment. It looks like a cross between those and a 7th gen. And unless Toyota is going overboard, there is no way the next Celica will have more than 220 or so hp. Any more than that and it changes classes, not to mention gets on Supra ground.

I think that's the point of the entire thing, if that is true about the 8th gen. Think about it...Toyota hasn't had a true supercar to do battle with in 5 years. Why not up the ante with TWO supercars, debuting roughly the same time. That's enough force to drive Nissan, Honda, and Mitsubishi up their respective walls! I think it makes PERFECT marketing sense. If you think about it, that 8th gen Celica looks very much like the new Supra. Why not have organized and similarly stylized cars for two new supercars? Makes sense to me.

2000 isnt that big since 3sgte is 1998.
300hp most likely isnt going to reach production, but all cars are being beefed up - take for instance the new turbo Neon - sh!its fast, and then u can go to the new G35, not this year but next - show model has 400+hp - u never know - but that Celica is nice - i like how they keep the wider back end, u kno over the rear wheels - like ours. -------------------- |

Its supposedly based on the current 4th gen 3SGTE with VVTi, putting out around 265HP. Should be interesting, since Toyota is not planning on using it for a ralley car. Does that mean they finally see the Celica as a sport's car again?

I want to know if the AWD is a gt4 model, or if they've done away with FWD altogether..
That car looks really amazing.. When you think about the bodykits available for the 7th gen celica I can only dream about what people will come up with for the new one. Hanging out for the veilside kit pictures scoth - You make a good point, I thought the AWD turbo celica was dead after the celica/toyota team was banned from WRC. (btw if you all didn't know it was by modifying the intake on the car.) |

Yeah, i like that more than the 7th gens for sure......the rear end is reminiscent of our 6th gens. The only thing i thought looked kinda funny was that flair line going from the bottom of the front fender, up towards the back of the car. But either way, its still a nice vehicle. Lets just hope that Toyota doenst completely jip us on power with this one.....
