It's summer time again, and the good tires are back on. Time for some fast driving. I'm getting tired of hitting the brake with my heal and gas with my toe while driving hard. This is the wrong way to do it, and it takes more effort from my legs and what not. I want the gas pedal up high enough that I can role my heel on it like I'm use to from my old car. My question is if anyone has had this problem as well? Any pedals people recommend to help this problem? I've got to make sure I'm in top notch shape for my race with Jay. I'm coming for you, you and stupid little 2 liter motor.

I'm planning on making my own custom gas pedal to remedy this problem. I have the same issue.

i know this is a bad way to fix it, but can't you just bend the gas pedal bar?

you could in theory mount the gas pedal a little lower.

I donno, but for this car, instead of heal-toe... it's more like left side of foot on brake, and right side of foot on gas, so far I don't have any problems with it

you mean you can't just pivot your heal on the ground and go from brake the gas freely?

left foot = clutch
right foot = brake & gas
for me and with a size 13 shoe i can't even fit my foot sideways or even up enough to heel-toe in a celica

haha my heel has even worn a patch into the carpet where it pivots when i switch pedals

I do this sometimes. I only wear a size 12, so it's not to hard to move from brake to gas in normal driving. I've thought about letting some fuild out of the brake resivor so the brake is lower, but I don't think that would be a good idea especially in the long run. I was trying to think of a way to change the placement of the pedal, I think making something so that it reaches the ground is the best idea. I'm worried about losing full throttle. I'll have to figure it out, or just not heal toe.

I don't think I want to do that. It's hard to get in there, and I'd be nervous welding around there. I'm not a great welder anyway. I'm not bad, but welding something small like a small rod for a gas pedal is not up my alley. If I bring it out like that, I also run into the issue of making a block or something like that to hold the pedal from going down too far and breaking.

If someone makes something to work, please take some pics. I'd like a templet or something for this. I'm just too lazy to figure it out on my own right now. I'll make it this summer if know one makes a kit or templet by then.

dude when you heel-toe you put your heel on the gas and your toe on the brake, that's a reason why the gas is so long/low
