Hey guys, I just bought a '95 Celica GT hatchback, it is black, with a black leather interior, full Shogun bodykit, 17" rims, and some other mods. I am new to Celicas, and I have a few questions. Sorry if some are really common sense or if they've been asked before!
Ok so here goes:

1) My car has the 2.2 4cyl & an auto trans, how much HP does it have stock, and how much HP would my Weapon R intake and Nology Hot Wires unleash? I am guessing about 7-10, would this be accurate?

2) How many (approximate) '95 Celica GT hatchbacks were made in black w/ black leather? I am asking because all the black ones I have seen have grey or tan interiors, and not all are leather.

3) I am thinking of buying the risers from a GT-Four, would those fit under my stock hatchback spoiler?

4) Does anyone make diamond clear turn signal and bumper lenses for a 6th Gen? Or does anyone here have some for sale?

5) What would I have to do to put white face gauges in? Like, what do I have to take apart?

6) I would like to get somewhere around 200 to 220hp out of my 2.2, is this obtainable fairly easy? I don't really want to get a turbo, and I will settle for around 190hp, is this possible without getting a turbo? I currently have an APEXi muffler, Weapon R intake, Nology Hot Wires, and a 75hp Nitrous Express kit (not hooked up yet).... is this a good start?

7) Where can I get a carbon fiber dash kit (real CF, not simulated)? I have seen some on Ebay but are they of good quality?

8) What kind of mechanical gremlins/recalls/other problems do '95 GTs have? I mean, is there any common things to look for? My car has a little over 153,000 miles.

Thanks guys for any help you can provide!!! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif laugh.gif smile.gif

stickies/faq will give you 75% of the information you need
the search will yield another 25%

1) plug wires = 0 intake = maybe 2
2) not a clue
3) if its a 2 post yes, 3 post no
4) for the 95 no turns only sidemarkers see links above
5) see link above
6) faq and stickies will tell you the answer...not very easy you'll need a turbo

playr pretty much explained it all. and not many celicas have leather interior so you're one of the lucky ones. so yeah... welcome and be prepared to learn so much more about your car.

black on black ftw.

But yeah. Celicas aren't race cars. You'll want to swap motors out if you want to see those HP numbers.

Correction... the 5sfe isn't a race engine... the 3sgte can be.

Welcome smile.gif
I wish mine came with leather interior,
but unfortunately it wasn't even an option.
You should post some pics of your car wink.gif

Hey! Welcome to the site. Where in Michigan are ya from? I'm in the Macomb area but I travel to Sterling Heights a lot. Black leather interior here too tongue.gif Seeing how your car's a '95, the GT4 blocks will definately fit. 153,000 miles is really nothing because Celicas last forever.

Welcome aboard. Make sure you add your pic to the women of 6gc posting in the other listings of this forum.
As far as your horsepower, I really would not recommend 75 shot. Your motor could take it, bit its going to
grenade eventually. Lots of guys hear have done a motor swap, and one of the mods got 267 hp out of his
stock motor by adding a turbo to it. Read (Mannys)pressure's post in the forums about that. you will find all your answers by looking around here.

1.) plugs Nothing. , Intake maybe 3 monkeypower
2.) My 94 has it... but not many.
3.) yes
4.) You can get them off of ebay for cheep.
5.) remove cluster then take out the see through plastic put on new gauges... pretty simple.. then put the ground wires on and your good. Also something you can ebay.
6.) Nope not a good start. The only way to really get 200hp out of a 5sfe(2.2l) Is a turbo. Look under the forced induction sticky you can see pressure2 (mannys) Turbo'd 5sfe.
7.) Ebay.
8.) the stock clutch usually needs replaced anywhere from 130k - 150k. Power steering always fails in 5th/6th gen celicas... almost always. around 120k struts have to be replaced axles + cvs. But Im sure thats already been done.

ok that's cool guys, thanks for the info. I am sure the car's black paint is original, it's the same in the door jambs and under the hood, as well as under the carpet and in the trunk...no signs of any other color anywhere and it isn't a new paint job...I'm the 3rd owner I believe. The nitrous isn't hooked up right now, so I will probably keep it that way, but I'd like to hook up the purge just for show, LOL.

The axles have been replaced, as well as the hub bearings. I bought the car online, everything that is on it was done by the previous owner. I am going to get the dings & stuff fixed and then have it painted '06 Nissan 350Z "Interlagos Fire Metallic", a dark reddish purple that changes to a fiery amber in sunlight. It's a gorgeous color:

I am in Jackson, MI as well, and I'm a girl, not a guy (Chanh55 called me a dude, LOL)

The only pics I have of it so far are the ones that were online, but here they are:

You may have seen it on Ebay, I got it off there. I love it! I may be selling the Nitrous Express kit so I can get new black leather seat skins from Katzkin, and a carbon fiber dash kit & some other things.

I don't really want to add a turbo, so what other things can I do to the engine to get some more power out of it? Does anyone make an underdrive pulley or anything else?

P.S., yes I am getting rid of the yellow! the underhood area will be cleaned and detailed soon....

nice car. i've actually seen it around on ebay. and that paint job would look really sexy on your car. anywho.... as much as i'd hate to be the bearer of bad news... our cars come pretty slow stock. you won't get much hp gains with just basic mods. if you want speed to match the sexiness, turbo/swap is the only way to go.

If you have someone do the swap a (lets say a 3sgte engine, everything including new seals etc.), it would run you about $4000-$5000. Save the money and go for that wink.gif ...it has 225hp stock, and can reach very high #'s wink.gif

Dr. Tweak here is the one to talk to about swappage biggrin.gif
