Hello. I am a new owner of a 95 Toyota Celica ST. I would have gotten a GT but I didn't know there were two kinds of 6GCs. But yeah, anyway, I've had my celica for 5 months so far and already did mods to it. I did research on my ST and found a lot of info on the 7A-G(Z)E conversion. The only problem is, all the articles I've read don't have specific parts you need for the conversion. I'm not going to do the conversion myself cuz I ain't no expert engine mechanic. Also, no mechanic around Orlando, FL that I know of knows how to do the conversion neither. SO, I don't know what parts are needed except the the 4A-GE head and the 4A-G ECU. Now, here is the question. Does it matter what AE the 4A-GE derived from? Cuz there is like the AE86, AE101, etc. I don't know if the newer the header, the more torque. Any info on this would be great. Also, this is the best site I've been to for info on my celica. Thanks.

it would probably be better to use the "Redtop Hi-comp" head from the fwd AE92, as the manifold would already be in the correct position, etc. but the ECU from the AE92 hi-comp is set for running 10.3 compression, where as the AE86 ECU runs 9.4. so whichever is going to be closer to the compression you plan on running, use that. im not sure if the 4age ecu will plug right into the stock plug. but there will not be the great power increase you may be hoping for, the 4age head works best at 6k+ rpm's, which the stock 7a internals cannot handle. the only reason us ae86 owners put the 7age in our corollas is for the added torque of the 1.8L. Just some info, and the best site to go to for info on 7age is club4ag.com tech reference. when/if i trade my ae86 for a 6gc, i plan on utilizing either 7age or possibly the 20v 4age from the AE111, i know the 3s makes more power, but im a sucker for the 7.5k rpm screaming 4age

Why not save yourself the money and swap a 4A-GE?
