Since my intake sits literally on the plastic under-guard stuff underneath the car I decided it might be wise to get an intake bypass.. that and lowering the car soon..
Anyways, so I get home from work (11:30) and find the package on the kitchen table. Who wants to wait? Not me! So I go out to the garage and start disassembling the intake. I tossed the coupler from the TB to the intake arm, because it was ripped real good. Then I switched over the coupler from the middle of the arm to the top. When I took the coupler off the lower connection I found that there was a little bump in the metal, which wouldn't let the bypass go on, so I took a razor and shaved off a little of the rubber on the inner part of the bypass. I then put the bypass onto the lower arm and then tried to connect the two, which turned out to be impossible. With my intake how it is (see picture) The Distributor and the battery make a bottleneck in the passage of the intake, and guess what? The new filter needs to be right there. Couldn't do it. Tried running it above them, but hood barely wouldn't close. So now I am sitting in my garage. Pissed. I didn't want to go buy a pipe extension, and I wanted to install it...but no way to fit it.... WAIT! Why don't I move the battery over slightly and then try! SUCCESS! Tight fit, but its together. I didn't have my camera with me, but if anyone (I doubt) is interested in them, then I guess I will go take some. Until then, I am tired and I am going to pass out! EDIT: ha, you guys might want the picture I refer to.. its for hydrolocking, if your car gets submerged in water it wont kill your car. if you have a short ram then you dont need it. its mainly for cold air intakes.

My filter sits on the plastic flooring in the engine bay, and I am lowering my car soon.. so it will be even closer. All of that and I live in Washington.. where it rains 364 days a year. EDIT: I don't know why this picture is so big, but there it is. why didnt you just switch to a short ram, the bypass will just suck air from the engine bay all the time just like a short ram.

because it isn't just an open filter. Very little air will come through there as compared to my main filter, so I didn't feel like switching. Plus, my filter is a whole hell of a lot bigger, and it definately would not have fit between the distributor and the battery, and I'm not going to go get more piping.

i agree with switching to a short or medium ram, as nice as cold air intakes sound the throttle response is too long and if it rains allot the air must be somewhat cool as is. altho i do like your setup and my c-one tower would look awesome in the bay!

Does it really get cold air? I mean, your intake is between the hot hot Engine and the hot hot Radiator?!?!
