Just got a call today from the shipping service saying that the 98 will arrive next Tuesday -- fro NY to TX -- door to door cost me $680 -- man I can't wait -- its like getting a new car all over or the 1st car joy kinda thing --
this will be so fun -- my 96 always had this bothersome whirling noise in the rear - and too many other small problems that would of cost me too much to fix -- got the 98 for $750 with minor front collision damage - but nothing mechanically wrong -- will be swaping some parts from the 96 to the 98 then comes the 3sgte - will be going down to superiortradinginternational.com to pick up the beast 2 wks from now ($1400 for ST185 clip)-- also a complete paint job going from oem red to metallic gray -- because i don't want the swap to go bad - there will be an engine rebuild because i don't plan on taking the engine out again 3 years from now -- here's a list of parts I plan to get -(any suggestion is appreciated) from http://www.importperformanceparts.net/ Complete Gasket Set Cometic Head Gasket ROSS Forged Pistons #99814 (86mm, 8.5-1) #99823 (88mm, 8.5-1) OR Wiseco Forged Pistons Any bore and compression WISECO or ROSS Performance Rings Performance Wrist Pins TOGA HP Main Bearings TOGA HP Rod Bearings Thrust Washers Timing Belt Expansion Plugs 1. Re-Con Forged Crank 2. H-Beam Rods all for Price: $1469 + water pump ARP head studs FMIC ATS Racing Throttle Body Inlet ATS Valve Springs Spec Stage 2 Clutch E153 trans ECU harness will be done by Dr. Tweak (will be calling u soon) this should leave me about $2500 left to play with -- (by the way - i plan on doing most of the work myself and with some friends -- the tuning will be done by alamoautosports.com |

nice man, sweet that you found a 98 model for 750$ im jealous as hell.. i paid 500$ for my 95 st with minor front end damage blown airbags and a blown engine!
your project sounds awesome keep us posted

Wow dude, I hate you.
I saw that car on ebay when it was listed. I called the guy a couple times and talked to him, I even went so far as to see how much it would be to have it shipped because it was such a good deal. But I ended up just giving it up as lost, cause I live all the way on the west coast. I'm glad it went to a good home though; I just wish I could have bought it. lol
