sup guys..well, today i went and dyno test my car.... first run, car did really bad at wHP with 5sfe turbo... only 140 to the wheel...at 5psi... but, second time...they found some leaking boost. got that fix, and car did 155whp at 5psi too... but it suppose to be around close to 200hp at the crank. i lost my intake sensor so they dyno without the intake sensor and with engine light on... My question is " does celica run low hp without intake sensor?" cause those guys that i took my car to dyno..they told me that...but i asked some civic peoples they saythe same thing too..my cousin have a 98 gst spyder and he didnt plugs his air intake sensor and runs with check engine light on and his car was soo weak..but after he plugs the air intake sensor...his car run fine...so i was just wondering anyone knows about his?......

If you have no intake sensor - the car thinks there is no air running into the intake - and yes that can cause your computer to get confused - thinking its not moving but other sensors telling it is. Not a good thing - i have a sensor i can sell you.

yeah that would be a problem. the ECU needs to know the temp of the incomming air

that and 155hp to the wheel is not that bad...remember the powertrain loss, 200hp at the crank can easil;y only be 155-170 hp to the wheel, i am unsure of the percentage of powertrain loss on our cars, but most ppl use a 15% percent rule, so using that you would be a lil low, and the sensor could cause that. if you do get the sensor and get more power great =) there are ways to free up hp trapped in the powertrain, like lightened flywheels

Well think of it this way, if your car thinks its lacking or getting no oxygen at all then it will most likely cut the fuel back so it doesn't run to rich. It probably goes into a safety mode where it reduces its output to prevent damage. I dont know for sure but that would be my logic for engine management.

ya i would buy the sensor from supersprynt....plus there is no way that you can get 200bhp at 5 psi. i believe its somewhere around 8. i have the burien kit as well so i know.
