I have ordered an new head unit for my car. The previous owner mounted the unit that is in there, to the trim piece. You pull it out and the radio is connected to it the pocket is gone and a black plastic peice is over it. So I want to put the new one in correctly cause it skips sometimes now cause it is just hanging there pretty much. I went to Best Buy and got a "universal" bracket but the booklet doesn't list my car, the guy says it will work but the companies website says they don't make a kit for my car.

The bracket Best Buy gave me is part # 99-8101 from metraonline.com

Does anyone know where I can get some backets? Do I have to get them from the dealer?

Can I get the screws that mount it to the dash at an auto part store? Cause I am missing the ones that go to that center trim piece too.

i've just recently swapped from one aftermarket stereo to another and i didn't have to get any brackets. after looking at a pdf file on swapping out a 6gc stereo i'm really thinking that the car comes with the brackets already and you don't have to buy a kit. if anyone has experience otherwise please say so.
