At some time while i was gone for the holiday weekend, someone slashed my convertible top... again. There was nothing stolen, because i had taken everything out before i left, locked the glove box with my computer... basically ive learned my lesson. But there is still a good 6-8 inch straight line gash in my top. Since there was nothing stolen and the cut is small, im not going to even bother insurance with it.
Does anyone know of a good convertible top repair or patch kit out there? I tried to google, but came up with nothing. Or does anyone have any tips of how to do it myself, or how much it would cost for a shop to repair it? I just want a patch, i dont want to call up insurance again to get the entire thing replaced. Thanks guys, Asher -------------------- Its Orville's Celica, i just drive it... |

I just bought a brand new top of off ebay for 410. 450 shipped. Even has the back GLASS!!!!! Got it in the mail today and it is super nice!!!!!
As for a patch, check your local auto parts store or maybe if its a canvas top a patch like you would use on your jeans might work????? Don't hold it to me but an idea that I would try myself. |

thanks guys,
but i ended up using some duct tape and canvas interfacing material on the inside to make it waterproof, and then i just sewed it up like a tear in a shirt. It looks like a the top has a scar, but i guess its fine for now... -------------------- Its Orville's Celica, i just drive it... |
