DTE uh, im only changing the head not the whole engine. my head has a crazy click/knock and the mechanic told me to change the head. he said it is knocking because maybe timing belt. it hasn't been changed for a long time. he also said it's my lifters? i dont know that's why i need to change my head. i dont want anything else to worry about. i just want a nice quiet ride. without the knock knock knock are you there sound. -------------------- |

soo.. is it the head or the timing belt... because they're very different things. When was the last time the timing belt was changed?
If you're doing the timing belt, you should also consider doing the waterpump, tensioner, idle pulley, the associated seals (crank/cam/etc) since they're all in the same area and it'll save on the overall labour. Do a search on the topics here for more info. |

if there is a knocking from a head then its your valves knocking...it might be going bad(bent valve, loose valve, etc)
