Ok, Here is the deal.
My buddy has a 93 Geo Prizm and he has the 7a-fe in it which i tracked it down and see that the 6g celica does too, ok now to the good stuff

I see alot of you celica guys recommend the MegaSquirt Which I love, I have it on my Neon and Mustang

and we bought it and would like to use it on my buddies car, however i have not seen any use the stock dizzy with the 7a-fe and megasquirt, i know i could just get the EDIS-Ford stuff but we would like to use the stock dizzy and such

i also see the alot of 4a-fe and 4age guys have used the megasquirt how much different is the engine wiring and pcm for the 7a-fe motors from the 4a-** motors and can i use and install document for a 4a-** motor on a 7a-fe motor?

thanks

The wiring is pretty different.

You can probably use the stock distributor as a crank position sensor and one of the stock sensors(I've seen Ne used on a AE101 4A-GE) and run the MSnS-extra firmware. I'm not too familiar with the 7A-FE distributor setup though.

now i just need to find it for the 4a-** engines and i will be golded, also one of the wiring diagrams just has the Intergrated Ignition Assembly, now this could mean a few things
1. this motor doesn't have a distributor
2. or it does but is different from the 96-98 7a-fe motor

i can tell you for a fact that the prizm motor has a dizzy, now can someone tell me if all the 7a-fe motors have a distributor?

however i thinking being the motor is in a 93, then motor would be an obd1 motor or pre-OBD-II motor however toyota would say it

and from the pic i see in the manual the prizm coil should have 4 pins on the distributor which are
G+, G-, NE+, NE -

thanks
