My friend had his SE-R broken into the other day and they stole his CD player, F'ed his dash up and took a bunch of CD's, so we went to the junkyard to get some stuff. When we were there I found an integra, which had been ripped of anything useful. Many-a-B16's. No aftermarket speakers left in any car, but my friend did find a sentra to donate to his cause. On our way out I wanted to take a look-see in where all the engines were. There were a few 7A's, but nothing special inside.Right outside the door I found a 4A-GZE labeled "Bad Motor". This upset me. So we move on to the Toyota yard down the road and found a MKI mr-2 with a GZE in it, only missing the intake manifold and supercharger. only 108K on it. So I got to thinking. I could:

A) Take the GZE from the mr-2, take the "Bad Motor" and piece the missing parts together onto the good one, and also the ECU and harness from the mr-2.

OR

B) Take one of their 7A's (clean!) and the "good" GZE and make a 7age.

The only bad part is that the toyota junkyard is incredibly overpriced. A guy on PSTOC went there for a stock airbox for his older supra and they wanted 50 bucks. He went to the toyota dealership and got it new for 38.

What would you do?

Buy both and fix it, either keep it or sell it.

im also interested in which junkyard you are talking about? NIX99 on hw99 in lynnwood is really expensive but always has the hard to find stuff. and then theres best auto and pull-a-part in lynnwood and tacoma. those are the only ones i know of.

Pull-a-part in Tacoma doesn't have anything worthy for our cars. Meridian auto wrecking usually has a few 6 gens on the lot. I've gotten lots of stuff from them. The bigger the pile of crap you bring up the cheaper it gets.

The one with the "Bad Motor" is called "Fred's Towing" In Enumclaw. Its tucked away pretty good, so if anyone wants to take a look-see you will probably need to call me, because I'm not entirely sure of the directions, but I know where it is. My friend's dad owns it, so I might be able to get it cheap.

The MR2 is at "410 Auto Wrecking... The Toyota Specialists". It is on hwy 410 in Buckley. Not too hard to find, but it isn't big.

There is another wrecking yard in Black Diamond. They get imported stuff, but a lot of the time they wont let you go out into the yard, They pull most of it and keep it all behind the counter.

Eastern Washington? I say nay nay! Very much Western Washington. Enumclaw is in the foothills, at the bottom of Chinook Pass

Buckley is right next door.

I will get numbers tomorrow. I'm going back to see how much they want for the engines.
