Hi,
Witj considerable difficulties I got to my differential - %S-FE auto, behind the transmission, "separate unit" only to discover it was almost empty! - a quarter of a quart at best came out! Interstengly, I checked a couple Camrys on junkyard and same - almost nothing in the diff. The differential is dry, NO leaks outside. Now, what is between the trans and the diff - even my factory manual does not say - they are joined together but listed as a sepatate units. Anybody had this experience and any ideas? Thanks! |

Yes they are seperate in the GT. You'll loose differential fluid whenever you remove your axels. ATF Dexron II or equivalent is recommended by the Toyota Service Tech Manual.
