We all have to start somewhere...smiles. For Art's sake, let me ask you this: did you buy an engine or a clip? Also, since you mentioned "turbo KIT", I will assume you meant that you wanted to upgrade your stock turbo. In order to intelligently answer that question, you have to tell us how you intend to drive your car (street, strip, autocross, etc.) and your goals.

what i wanted most was a car i mainly use for drag type purposes, around here alot of people work on cars and im really getting into my 6gen, i have the base engine and bought the swap already, basically i want a bigger turbo, maybe T3/4. i just wanted to know acouple of good places to get it done. im not exactly skilled in metal work. we have a drag strip that they hold monthly races at and i would like to survive at least the first acouple rounds .

Are you willing to spend money on a new computer and fuel system? What are your hp goals? What is your budget? Answer these questions and we can make some good recommendations.

well, for 275-300hp on the 3rd gen, all you need is a good intake, 3" turbo back exhaust, and a boost controller.

If not, do that first with the stock turbo and the mods Manny suggests. (Watch your a/f ratios) You would be surprised at how fast it is. Then, if you want more power, you will need to look at injectors, ems, and turbo. What tranny are you running? -------------------- QUOTE(lagos @ Jul 10, 2006 - 1:55 PM) i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this. |

I bought a 3rd gen 3sgte swap but its just not powerfull enough. yes im ok with buying new fuel system and CPU. $10000 just on the motor!?! If i was you this is what i would do with 10 g's: 3" DP, 3"exhaust, FMIC (unless you got st205 w2a in your swap - then i would just get better HE), gauges (oil psi, boost and egt or wideband o2), Power FC or nemesis EMS(tuned by gen3 pro such as brian moore) water injection, that should allow you to run close to 300whp on pump gas and bit over 300whp on race gas, quite reliably, and you still have a stock turbo that you can upgrade to steel turbine wheel for more reliability. All that would be in a ballpark of $3500. You could upgrade the fuel and get a turbo kit and push even more power but it gets more pointless as you start wasting money on forged goodies and rebuilds to push massive power on FWD car.. Besides you probably will need better tranny so i would get ss3 tranny with lsd, also good tires on wide wheels, custom traction bar, traction control and aftermarket clutch, would be a good way to spend next $3000-4000 With remaining $3000-4000 i would get tein coilovers+edfc, jdm tails lights, projectors gt4 hood, gt4 bumper+any gt4 front lip, tint windows, and a taco supreme and your good to go -------------------- QUOTE(tufy @ Jul 19, 2006 - 7:40 AM) i dont drive fast, i just fly low |

With $10,000, you could build a motor that supports 500+ hp with ease. Of course, your reliability at those levels will be way down.

Not to mention that 500whp fwd car will get wasted by 300-350awhp car on a street, so it is a big waste of money, might as well attempt awd conversion DO IT DO IT DO IT -------------------- QUOTE(tufy @ Jul 19, 2006 - 7:40 AM) i dont drive fast, i just fly low |

your going to want to use the mr2 E-153 lsd tranny...converted to FWD
and i'd suggest the KO racing gen3 kit for about 2300$ in total..spend a nice amount on a set of hoosiers that are about 12" wide and have fun |
