so this "guy" and his 600hp mr2, do you have any other details on it?
Personally 20psi is a LOT of boost to daily drive at, a dual setting would be better. Especially in a fwd platform, i know at 22psi my first gear is nonexistant. also are you going to be changing the intake manifold, any headwork and what injectors do you plan on using. Im assuming you have 93 octane where you live, and 22psi (without water injection) on 93 on stock injectors will kil that motor. Not putting you down or anything, just convo about 3sgte. My goal was turnkey 420hp with NO extra maintance work (i.e. retorque headstuds, oil change, coolant flush) basic things. and i finally acheived that just wondering your path to take to perhaps change some of my own setup. |

Cams, intake manifold, throttle body would help that engine breathe easier so you could get your HP # easier.. probably on less boost = more reliable.
You want to use as little boost as possible. -------------------- 87 4runner DLX 22re, 5spd, 4.30gr, 4" lift, 30" tires, HID w/ Projectors, 6spkr + sub, custom exhaust, 94 celica leather seats, SR5 gauge cluster and clinometer. Future engine swap... possibly a 2jzge.

yeah mos definately but i want reliability with that power,............seeing around here you need to have a reliable fast car or else its just another full race vehicle not a fast ass street car and around here theres alot of top dog street daily driven high hp cars so might aswell beef out the internals but yeah i really wish i had the money for cams or custom intake manifold, that way i wouldnt need to boost too much but to a surprise i went up to paradise racing to pick up a cometic 2mm head gasket and well he gave me a deal on eagle rods i could never say no to,..............EVER!!!! so well i tore the block apart again so i can replace the stock rods with eagle h-beams and arp bolts included and well put it back together in no time and well finding the right socket to fit those damn arp head stud nuts is hard as crap because clearance in the bolt bore in the head is highly restricted and especially cuz i need a 12 point 12mm socket restricts it even more!! grrrr but this bad boy will be torqued down asap aswell as oil pan on and cam shafts on aswell but still need lower idler pulley from toyota and i can finally put it to top dead center and put the timimg belt on and need purchase of clutch from competition clutch( 6 pluck race kit) and this monster will go in the celica,..........oh yeah and now i need a custom manifold for the borgwarner t3/t4 i got from paradise aswell ( paradiseracing.com--excellent parts for toyotas ---best prices---highly recommend) and still need more money in my little piggy bank for the haltec ems (e6x)1200-1400bucks well i definatly am getting alot of great feedback from pro toyota builders and they're letting me know i will definately be hitting the goal of 350whp at about 18 lbs of boost (plan to run 24 lbs of boost at the track) well i wanna say i really want the celica to break the low 12 high 11 sec barrier with drag radials and my tranny with a cusco lsd.
