Well I finally got the estimate back after I destroyed the front axel on my Celica, and its not bad at all. Im also just picked up a new job making almost 15$/hr which is very sweet seeing how it will give me alot more money. I love my 6th Gen alot, very much its just that its an automatic and its an ST, and I don't know if I really feel like going through the hassle of swapping Tranny's and Engine's or rebuilding the internals when I could just go outside and buy a 2002 Celica GT-S easily.

I just don't know what to do right now. frown.gif

I know but..
6th Gen > 7th Gen
but..
7th Gen Power > 6th Gen Power
hell...
Civic Power > 6th ST Power

Automatic is like a condom.. it protects you from racing.

I'd be alot happier if I had a GT 5spd Transmission available to me, then i'd swap and not have to worry about it again if I was to turbo my ST.

actually an automatic has the potentenal of being faster than a manual.... but the transmission has to be geared to reach the higher rpms of each gear.... hell forward motion built a dodge neon that is still stock block and automatic and the last I heard it was just about to break the 8sec mark.....

Yo man i was in the same position you are in about a year ago. the tip on my axel just broke of while i was driving. i had just started my new job and was making good money and getting mad over time. i even went to the toyota dealer and talked to my uncle, i had the papers in my hand for a brand new 2002 celica. i just had to sign the papers. but thankfully my girl talked me out of it. there aren't to many poeple out there with a hooked up 6th gen celica. some times i'm happy that she talked me out of it, then they are sometimes when i'm like damn somthing else i got to fix on this damn car. so it's up to you if you love you car keep it/

Yea I guess your right.

I kinda slid 30-50ft on a sheet of black ice into a curb and it destroyed my whole front axel and may have possibly bent the frame, but they said they would get back to me on the frame and its been a few days so i'm guessing nothing was wrong with that. I do love my 6th Gen though, I have to admit, I guess I should probably stick with it but I do need to get a Tranny Swap. I had a 1993 Integra Type-R before my Celica, and i'm proud to say it was a serious piece of ****!! - it was a 5spd though. Then one day I decided to look for some used cars just to see what was in the area, and I saw this one silver Celica sitting there and I thought it was so beautiful, it was like one of the most gorgeous girls walking down the street just waving to you... and then I bought the Celica tongue.gif being automatic and all I was still OK with it.

Oh i'm giving a life story, sorry I just woke up tongue.gif

I'm keeping her, I have to, she's much sexier than a 7th Gen.

so I jumped a curb @ 40 mph yesterday after doing a full 350 degree skid on a highway off-ramp.

doesn't look like there is any damage, and car seems to run fine but is it possible that I may have bent the frame? should I get it checked out?

oh and Jason, KEEP THE CELI !! for gods sake man you turned down a 300ZX TT for her, its time to show ur love and give her some MODS... smile.gif

yeah man. don't let a little axle problem stop you. you can do that for like, 80 bucks if you DIY...stick it out, i've gotta ST automatic, just play w/ it, it's still fun in the twisties, and also insurance is cheap. wink.gif . um...mine's paid for tho, so that's one of the main reasons i'm keeping mine so long, i plan on runnin it to the ground, then doin a full over-haul...but we'll see if that actually happens.
