I was close to just buying a new car, but though it would be more cost efficient to get a new engine

I'm on a tight budget [$3000] including installation... is that even possible?

Any reccomendations for Orange County?

What type of engine are you looking for?

It all depends what kind of deal you find on an engine/what type you're looking for etc...I'd say engine swaps go from 3k-6k, so you'd be right on the edge.

Getting a low miles 7AFE is the cheapest way.. but the consequence is that the engine might be abused.

Can you elaborate what your trying to do?

you can pick up a new 7afe (ST engine) for pretty cheap (less than $500) and having a shop put one in wouldn't be more that $500-$1000 I would imagine.

you can easily get a 7afe dropped in for less than 3k. but if you want a nice lil upgrade, get a 4age.
