over the last few days ive been dealing with some personal issues and the last thing that i want to do, is think about cars when i get online.

every second that somone spots me online, i get an AIM with some form of car realated question. its getting out of hand. i dont mind helping anyone out, but please.. think about what you want to ask, and just post it in the forums. ill try to help as best as i can when i read the post and have some time. most questions range from the very basic stuff.... that you can just find with a google search ... or none stop 24/7 car tech support. im sure that most of you guys dont dont realize that there is more then one person asking me this type of stuff on a daily basis.

bottom line is... im glad to help, but please... give me a little room to beath. if you have a question, post it on the site. that way youll get more then just my help. i dont want to have to change my AIM name or anything like that, so just please realize that at least 10 people a day ask me something car ralated, when im trying to deal with my own personal life.

yeah definitely put your personal life first. The Celica is still just a nice, environment polluting object that people will just have to wait for your help on smile.gif

Remove your AIM screen name from your profile if you don't want Q's.

Welcome to my life about 4 years ago. People don't realize there is more to life than a goddamn Toyota Celica. That's why I took at least a good year off of this site. And that's why a lot of people these days don't know me, even though I was the 7th person to join the site. G'luck on people not IMing. Tip: when you get online, hit the 'invisible' button, then IM who you want to talk to. smile.gif.

Hey, I signed up TWO days behind you, when the site was just kicking off! I have owned two Celicas since, but the car has never consumed my time. I did not mod my first Celi that much and I probably won't do too much more to this one. I am pushing 30 years old, married, and I am not concerned about doing an engine swap or anything. I hope that some day in the not too distant future, we have more alternative fuel/powered vehicles and sports cars get in on it, then I will get me something much nicer and faster.

I encourage others to heed Art's advice- PLEASE just do at least a little bit of research before you put others out of their way to do it for you.

I know if I have a question I don't get on the phone right away and call people from 6GC, or message everyone to get my answers. The only way you'll learn about anything is by being your own problem solver and digging for answers for yourself....the internet is overflowing with answers to just about every question you may have. It certainly doesn't hurt to ask somebody elses opinion on what they think, but thats really only neccesary after you've exhausted all other resources or are in serious doubt. Buy a manual, download the BGB, search this or other forums, Google search, etc......thats how EVERYBODY here that knows a thing or two about what they're doing learned their stuff.

Remember, the members here with the 3SGTE swaps, 5SFTE projects, 4AGE swaps etc have lives too....they want to be able to talk to carry on their normal lives without having to do everyones leg work for them. I just feel bad because i see and hear this happen all the time, and it bugs me. Be self sufficient, and you'll be glad you are in the long run.

for the record when i message anyone (usually art eric or jeff) its because 6gc, alltrac.net, mr2oc, and celicatech arent giving me the answer, and/or its a question i know can be answered in 10 secs via im rather than 20 min via forums..

ive been trying to cut down though, sorry guys

if it makes you feel any better art, i refer you to my friends as my 3sgte mentor wink.gif
