I have found someone locally that has a 98 ST205 that is complete (not just a front clip). I was told it only has structural frame damage and it was let through customs because of this reason. I have not seen it yet, so I do not know the extent of the damage.

I am just wondering how much would be able to be transfered from the RHD ST205 into my LHD ST204? Would it be possible to swap all the parts and make mine into a LHD ST205?

Please let me know what your thoughts are?

Thanks.
David

if you have fabrication skills like Jesse James, then yes, everything is transfterable.
if not, then the bill just gets bigger and bigger the more you want done.

Transferable to a certain point, since the entire back under carriage is different on the ST205. A St205 even has lower seats to accomodate longer persons. I am against the roof when in the back of my car. In the st205 i have plenty of headspace. Also If you only look at the trunk floor you know how much different an st205 is from any other 6th gen.

So I guess what you are saying is that its probably easier to repair the ST205, then to swap everything into my ST204.

it depends on whats wrong with the car.

a damaged frame can be fixed. call around to some frame shops once you know whats wrong with the car.

The answer would be yes. But you will drive on the wrong side of the road.
But you can make it LHD:
Using your GT as a donor car you can salvage the firewall, some steering compenents (still need some special GT4 LHD components about 800 dollars in costs new), dashboard etc and try to get the frame in good shape (unless its really bad, dont have pictures to look at)

It would be a lot of trouble as well but you its a lot easier and if done right safer then cutting and welding op the backside of your ST204. Search for the member " Bacertune" on the forum. He is a Dutch Celica forum member who is currently in progress of swapping from RHD to LHD. And is almost finished in all the wiring and install of steering parts of the LHD. Ask him about more refined details in working time+costs because I dont know them all.
