You can put a Nitrous kit on anything. But seeing that you're putting on turbo and then on top of that some nitrous...uhm...better think about upgrading internals before hitting that N2O button, unless you plan on getting a new engine real soon.

wutchu want a nos for? u gone go drag racing or sum'in? if u juss gone street race i say nos is a waste of money. even if u ceramic coat ur engine and change internals... hm~~~~ i doubt any street driven engine can withstand nos for too long. turbo should do it. anywas it'd b good to go back to the topic of turboin our cars. the question still remains. turbo kit or factory turbocharged 3sgte? wut would b better in the long run? would it b better to keep the budget low or go on a moderately high budget?

The power depends on how much boost and how big of a shot you have. If you run about 9 pounds and throw a hundred shot on, you'll be making about 300 hp, you'll blow your engine, but you'll have 300 hourse.

Putting it on wouldn't be too hard, but I'd make sure the engine can handle it all around, you'd need even bigger injectors than those that come with the kit, and all the other internal parts are gonna have to be replaced.

Or you could just run 6 psi and put a 25 shot on. That would give you a pretty good power gain and the nitrous provides an intercooling effect.

run 4...put the zex 55shot...might be a good combo and give u a good 200-250 (obviously depending on turbo setup). The engine internals of a 5sfe are for sure good up to 250, as long as they already haven't been damaged...i just wouldn't go runnin around shootin nitrous all the time. You could prolly run closer to 300 if you upgraded internals...rings, pistons, etc.

And yeah, not only bigger injectors but like a MKIV Supra TT fuel pump would help.

To anyone who has a FMIC, how did you plumb it. I.E. getting the pressurized air from the turbo to the intercooler and back up to the throttle body?

QUOTE
why 3 grand intercooled? Where do you get the extra 500 bucks from if u say urself u got a front mount for 70 bucks? lol. 70 doesn't equal 500...but alright. :-D

most people are not going to go junkyard diving and will spend alot more than $70 on an intercooler, thats before the piping

my total of $3,000 was with $2,500, and about $200 for a cheap intercooler(new to match the rest of the new burien kit parts), piping, and tax(if applicable)

I'm not trying to be a dick to all you guys with the burien kit, I just don't have that kinda cash

but these are all guess-timates you can spend anything from $70 on a FMIC all the way up to over a $1,000 for a nice blitz unit.

QUOTE
it may be cheaper to go junk yard diving, but where i live there is a better chance of getting hit my lightning while pissing on a electric fence while contracting monkeypox from a viral hedgehog then finding any turbo toyota to get a manifold and a turbo from

like my post said, I bought the turbo and manifold off of e-bay, there are many other places to source parts for a turbo kit besides a junkyard. you are right about how rare a turbo toyota is in a junk yard, but I have found a couple of mk3 supras that you can score an intercooler or injectors off of.

QUOTE
if you go get parts from a junkyard then you have to go buy new seals/gaskets/grommets/rubber parts etc.

rolleyes.gif dont think that will be a huge problem

QUOTE
Does anyone know if there's a good way to install a front mount intercooler on the 6 gen's. I've been looking all over the car and there's really no good spot to plumb it. Any help would be great. Oklahoma doesn't have the strongest toyota following.

I was thinking about going around the side of the radiator on the left, and using a u-pipe to go under the radiator to the right, looks like about the only option, any body have pics of their intercooler pipes?
I'd be interested to see 'em

QUOTE
Anyone? Just curious as to how much wheelspin happens and how far up the gears. Eg.. do you get the wheels spinning changing into third?

Also - did you find it necessary to get wider or better tires just to get some traction happening?

as for third gear spinning, it should only happen when you stomp on it, same with second gear, first should be able to handle fine(turbo lag), but this is during normal driving conditions, if your racing, you could benefit from some wider wheels for traction, also suspension mods to compensate for pulling in mid second and mid third.

I'm just going to throw this question out there and look stupid, but is it possible to have a NOS kit installed on a burien turboed 5sfe? If so, any predictions as to what kinda HP that would make?
QUOTE

don't worry you don't look stupid, but that would be hell on your engine,  I would only recommend doing it on special occasions, unless you really beef up the engine

run 4...put the zex 55shot...might be a good combo and give u a good 200-250 (obviously depending on turbo setup).

[QUOTE]

good point, make sure your engine is in tip-top shape, get the compression checked, and a tt supra fuel pump is definately a must for such an application.

You better watch out - that engine isnt going to last very long. But if ur that excited about turbo 5s - cant wait for the 3s in about a week.
