What engine and what are your goals?
-------------------- QUOTE(lagos @ Jul 10, 2006 - 1:55 PM) i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this. |

I'm assuming the stock at200, lke me. I too am thinking of getting a turbo for mine. I just don't think it is worth it to drop a new engine in for 5000 when I don't race.

"wanting more power" isn't quite specific enough to give you intelligent advice. Please either give goals of hp or torque or provide us with what you plan to do (street machine, drag, autocross, etc). Also, if you give us your budget, that could be helpful in providing advice too. -------------------- QUOTE(lagos @ Jul 10, 2006 - 1:55 PM) i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this. |

Do some research check out what everyone else is doing. Read the stickies on celicatech and the ones here on 6gc.......
For your car a T3 super 60 would be perfect. My friend has it on his1.8 7th gen celi and its perfect. -------------------- BANNED!

For a street machine 6gc and no budget issues, my advice would be 3rd gen 3s swap, i/h/e, boost controller, boost and oil pressure guages, MR2T or Camry/Solara V6 tranny, custom exhaust (at least 2.5"), a good suspension (either Koni Yellows and decent lowering springs or some REAL coilovers) and sticky tires. I might buy a bigger turbo depending on my traction issues with the ct20b.
If I had an unlimited budget for a street machine that would retain the 7afe, I would recommend that you buy the turbo I have (GT28RS w/ .63 A/R), at least 550cc injectors, an aftermarket engine management system, some sort of anti-knock protection, and a tune by a competent tuner (as well as the other non-engine related items referenced above). Some of the Audi and Volkswagon guys are getting 300+ whp out of their gt28rs powered 1.8 liter engines. Not the same but a nice reference. In all honesty, however, neither of these answers would do you much good if you were really just looking to add a turbo to your ten year old economy engine. People with those kind of cars ALWAYS have a budget and most often it is much more modest than the first two options I outlined would require. As such, I recommend that you get some smaller garrett turbo as the other guys have recommended. if retaining your stock motor i would suggest looking into getting some head work as that will probably help out the motor a good deal..its head is a given restriction to the motor...
