Im gonna try to put in at ct20b turbo in today and was wondering what kind of oil i should use in my 3sgte. Its got roughly about 73,000 miles on it. I plan on running it on 8psi daily and 13psi racing. Any suggestions? Also, i dont want to run synthetic because of its high mileage. So what brand? weight? and quantity? thanks guys : )

First off, 73k miles is *not* high mileage for a Toyota motor. Synthetic should be fine.
What does the turbo have to do with what oil you are running? I'm wondering about the rest of the story here... -Charlie -------------------- 2003 Subaru WRX Wagon

hmm yeah 73k isn't high at all. I got like 98k now and still running strong, and my alltrac has 160k, and well.. it tries.

I will be running higher boost than stock so i dont want an oil that wont keep the shaft lubed. thats why i wanted a thicker oil as opposed to synthetic. |

I have a turboxs dual stage boost controller, 13 psi is just a flick of the switch away with gas prices the way they are, for a to b drives 8psi should be enough. Unless its late at night and freeways clear than thats a different story. Edit:13psi not 14 (just yet) This post has been edited by eggman40: Jul 10, 2006 - 9:16 PM |

BTW, I switched to synthetic last night. Although the weight of authority suggests that the cleaning agents in synthetic oil can break down sludge build-up that may be preventing a leak, I have read a number of posts from people with over 100k on their engines who have had no problems switching. I was paranoid about it but made the switch anyway. There is no doubt that a good synthetic oil is MUCH better for your engine longevity.
