i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

Up to 2500 RPM my car is very civil. After that, its like a freaking freight train. Its 3" straight through and when I am boosting the noise is unbearable. With the top down, it truly sucks. I have a tail mounted magnaflow that is 5x9 oval but shorter - maybe 14" or so. This beast will be mounted in the midpipe after the resonator. I am going for the sleeper sound. I am also going to recirculate my BOV so all the ricey sounds are going bye bye. Its what you want when you turn 30 - trust me.

im really surprised that you dont like your exhaust sound and want to tone it down. i love my magnaflow. its not too loud and has a really good tone to it. i know NA cars with smaller exhaust that are louder then mine.

I like the exhaust note - it sounds mean. Its just too freaking loud. An ideal exhaust sound to me would be what I have - just quieter. Kinda like a stock c5 vette.

One thing you guys have to remember is that the fabric roof allows much more noise in the cabin than your relatively well-sealed sheetmetal roofs.

LOL. The muffler is brushed stainless steel. Its going UNDER the car - you won't see any of it unless you crawl under the car. Some of you rice boys crack me up. For me exhaust is about performance and keeping the car quiet. A distant third factor is the exhaust note and even further behind is how the visible part looks.

I love the turbo! I still haven't bought better tires as my foot has been trained LOL. Did you see my autocross vid? You can get a little taste of the power on that video. I spun the tires in 1st and 2nd gear on the launch without using the clutch. Here is the thread:

i agree with you jay... for 30 years old a lot of the loud ass noises loise their importance... a c5 vette exhaust is amazing... if you nailed that i would do unthinkable things to your car laugh.gif tongue.gif

I know what you mean about the noise. This is why I'm happy I dont daily drive mine. The exhaust on the highway gets old after about 3rd or 4th hour or the same loud deep tone.

Nice work man

I love the sound as well. Was very amazed by the fact that the 3S-GE with cat + 2 mid mufflers was actually louder dan 3S-GTE with only the rear muffler. Every N/A car here with a "sporty" Muffler is louder then my turbo smile.gif
