this began two weeks ago when My mom called me at work, she asked me where were the keys for my car ( I have two celicas a 1987 and a 1995 ) I was driving the 1987 and I had the keys for the other in my pocket. My mom don't have license so that made me ask why do you need them ? well, her boyfriend just got to the country ( he lives overseas ) and doesn't have a car to drive around. by the time I got home they were both waiting for me at home, I was trying to be a nice kid and FOR FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE I hand the keys of my car down to him. he was driving my old celica for two weeks, and then....

he called from the airport, he said " many thanks and all the cr&p " then told me that the car was parked somewhere in Newark, and one of his friends have the keys at this moment I was already pissed off but didn't say anything then he said, he( his friend ) is gonna give me the ticket and the money to get the car.

What ?

first of all he got a ticket, well that's ok can happen and he's paying for it so w/e
he left the car parked in a non parking area and the car was towed away. now he is in DR, while I may be losing the car because I don't have time to go and get it. I just took all my vacation left for the year and I get out of my job at 4 30 PM they close at 5 PM and they don't realese the car to anybody but the owner unless you have a legal document giving permission to someone else to go and get it.

I'm so angry about it and can't say anything because I don't want my mom to feel bad about it.

I just found out that they charge you something extra for everyday the car stays with them, so this was on Wednesday, and unless they work Saturdays I won't be able to get it this week.

what makes me hit myself to the ground is that this guy have 4 vehicules in DR he has a mercedez benz 1983, a mercedez 2002 12V two doors, a toyota tacoma 2003 for his business and a camry 1997 for daily driving. I might just return him the favor in Dec during my vacation.

Fake a sickness and just dig out from work to pick it up. Thats what I do when i don't feel like working, on the other hand, I can take off anytime anyways. GL

Yeah, I mean, if your job is one where everyone is cool with eachother, they should understand that you're going through a frustrating ordeal and need maybe just half a day (?) off to go get it.

This does really suck...I'm so glad that I live on an island so my cars can't go too far if I lend them to someone....

Good luck! At least you are getting it back and it (as far as I can tell) isn't totalled or anything...I was talking to some people in another forum and one girl said her roomate "borrowed" her car one night, got piss drunk, and just totalled it. Rough.
