I've molded a few of em, takes the a pillar, and pod that fits, way I do it is use a strong plastic glue to hold it on then fiberglass the whole thing, but you have to really scratch up the surface of the plastics so the fiberglass gets a strong hold to it. then sand it down and smooth out any uneven places, then a thin layer of a bondo or body filler, then very good sand and prime/paint.

^ very diff, due to the size of guages appose to thoes subs you cant do it that way, it wont turn out very good, best off buying a a pillar guage pod and molding it.

Sorry mate, but didn't you describe virually the same thing that the sub guy did earlier on?

Other than using a wooden ring, use the gauge pod?

A Piller
Gauge Pod
Fasten together
Stretch some fabric around to get the shape you want
Resin onto the fabric so it goes hard
layer or 2 of fibreglass and resin for strength
cover with bodyfiller
sand
paint
admire your handywork.

compared to:-
wooden frame
wooden ring
Fasten together
Stretch some fabric around to get the shape you want
Resin onto the fabric so it goes hard
layer or 2 of fibreglass and resin for strength
cover with bodyfiller
sand
paint
admire your handywork.

yeah totally different dude. laugh.gif

nah seriously though, it is fairly easy mate, just don't get resin in your eye like subbox dude did. DOH!!
